Abstract

Politik transaksional dan money politic menjadi sesuatu yang lazim digunakan oleh elite politik. Realitas pendidikan politik di Indonesia belum berhasil mewujudkan elite-elite politik yang memiliki integritas yang baik. Bertolak pada itu semua peneliti mencoba mengambil makna realitas sosial tentang makna pendidikan politik dari para elite politik melalui pengalaman serta pandangan mereka tentang pendidikan politik.Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif, dengan tujuan memberikan rincian yang lebih kompleks tentang fenomena pendidikan politik yang sulit diungkapkan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dan informasi yang digunakan adalah studi dokumentasi, wawancara dan observasi.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman dan pengalaman elite politik tentang pendidikan politik, masih perlu dibenahi. Pelaksanaan pendidikan politik oleh partai politik untuk kadernya masih menggunakan indoktrinasi. Sehingga sikap elite politik yang pragmatis dan kurang idealis menunjukan kesadaran dan pemahaman yang kurang. Para elite politik masih menganggap bahwa keberhasilan pendidikan politik bagi masyarakat adalah partisipasi dalam pemilihan umum.Berdasarkan kesimpulan tersebut peneliti merekomendasikan beberapa hal antara lain partai politik perlu melakukan 1) Re-ideologisasi Pancasila; 2) Re-konseptualisasi pendidikan politik dan 3) Reinstrumenisasi pendidikan politik. Kata Kunci: Pendidikan Politik dan Elite Politik. This thesis examines political elites social reality towards current political education in Indonesia. The study is based on a phenomenon in Indonesia where people's perspective on politics is decreasing and they tend to be pragmatists. As the method of the study the author used a descriptive qualitative method to reveal a more detailed findings about political education through the eyes of political elites. Data were collected from interviews, observations, and archives.The findings of the study show that political elites' comprehension on the essential of political education are not sufficient. Those elites belief that a successful political education can be seen merely by referring to the people willingness to participate in a general election. Whereas the final objective of the education is to politically literate the people. Thereby, political parties need to improve their cadres' political education instead on relying merely on an indoctrination method. Pragmatists and self centered (political party-centered) become the most common perspective appear from the elites toward politicians. The ideology of Pancasila and the 1945 constitution have not been internalized as a whole in the current political education for the political elites and society. Thus, the author suggests the following recommendations: The political parties have to 1) re-idealize the Pancasila; 2) re-concept the political education, and 3) re-instrument the political education Keywords:Political Education,Political Elites.
