Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul “Pengaruh Supervisi Akademik Kepala Sekolah Terhadap Kinerja Mengajar Guru SD Negeri Di Kecamatan Conggeang Kabupaten Sumedang”. Masalah yang diangkat dalam penelitian ini adalah masih banyak sekolah yang mengalami masalah dikarenakan guru tidak menjalankan tugas dan fungsinya dengan baik. Rendahnya kualitas peranan guru dalam sekolah salah satunya dikarenakan kinerja mengajarrnya yang masih rendah. Hal ini diduga karena kurangnya supervisi akademik yang dilakukan oleh kepala sekolah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi yang dijadikan sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh guru SD Negeri di Kecamatan Conggeang Kabupaten Sumedang sebanyak 150 guru dari populasi tersebut diambil seluruh populasi. Berdasarkan pengolahan data yang dihitung dengan menggunakan teknik WMS (Weight Means Scored) diperoleh bahwa rata-rata kecenderungan umum untuk supervisi akademik kepala sekolah berada pada kategori baik dan rata-rata kecenderungan umum untuk kinerja mengajar guru berada dalam kategori sangat baik. Berdasarkan analisis korelasi menunjukan bahwa tingkat koefisien supervisi akademik kepala sekolah terhadap kinerja mengajar guru rendah. Uji signifiakansi menunjukkan bahwa supervisi akademik kepala sekolah memiliki korelasi yang positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja mengajar guru. Dari uji determinasi dan analisis regresi membuktikan bahwa supervisi akademik kepala sekolah dapat menentukan kualitas kinerja mengajar guru. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa supervisi akademik kepala sekolah memberikan pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan. Meskipun telah diketahui pengaruh yang ada cukup rendah. Hal ini memberikan petunjuk bagi kepala sekolah untuk meningkatkan kualitas kinerja mengajar guru yang baik serta dalam meningkatkan mutu sekolah, maka kepala sekolah perlu memperhatikan supervisi akademik kepala sekolah yang telah diberikan. Untuk meningkatkan kinerja mengajar guru yang baik juga bisa dilakukan dengan adanya motivasi dari kepala sekolah. Kata kunci: Supervisi Akademik Kepala Sekolah; Kinerja Mengajar Guru This study entitled “The Effect of Academic Supervision of School Principals towards Teaching Performance of Elementary School Teachers in Conggeang District, Sumedang Regency”. The problem raised in this study is that there are many schools having problems caused by the teachers who do not carry their duties and functions well. The low quality of the teachers’ roles is caused by the low of teaching performance. This is presumably due to the lack of academic supervision which is done by the school principals. This study used descriptive method in which qualitative approach was used. The population of the study is the whole elementary school teachers in Conggeang District, Sumedang Regency. The entire population of 150 teachers was taken as the participants. Based on the data collection which was calculated by WMS (Weight Means Scored) technique, is found that the average of the general tendency for academic supervision of the school principal is in good category. Then the average of the general tendency for the teachers’ teaching performance is in excellent category. Based on correlation analysis, shows that the rate coefficient of academic supervision of the school principal towards the teachers’ teaching performance is low. Significance test shows that academic supervision of the school principal has positive and significant correlation towards teaching performance of the teachers. From determination test and analysis of regression show that academic supervision of the school principals can determine the quality of the teachers’ teaching performance. In conclusion, academic supervision of the school principals has positive and significant effect although the fact is quite low. This provides guidance to the school principals to improve the teachers’ teaching performance as well. Then to improve the quality of the schools, the school principals need to consider the academic supervision which is given.
