Abstract

This study examines the education of democracy through civic education, and political participation of students in the general election of regional head. This study took place at the faculties in UNIROW Tuban. The problem is there or not the effect and contributes democracy education through civic education with indicators to political participation of students in the general election of regional heads. The purpose of this study is to explore, assess, analyze, organize theoretical, empirical information in developing the concept of thinking about democracy education, political participation of students in the general election of regional heads.The rationale is in reality, not maximal learning civic education as a curricular program of democracy, and the level of political participation of students is not maximized. The research method is a survey, with a correlation design. Tuban UNIROW research student population, and the sample of 300 respondents. Taking samples in multiple stage random sampling. Data collection techniques: tests, questionnaires, documentation, and observation. The data is processed and analyzed research statistics through path analysis.The findings of his research is (1) there are the effect of democracy education through civic education with indicators of organizational activity, age, and origin of school to 'political participation of student in the general election of regional heads; (2) there are not effect of democracy education through civic education with indicators of gender and origin of the faculty to political participation of student in the general election of regional heads; (3) There is a real contribution to democracy education through civic education with the indicators to the political participation of students in the general election of regional heads. The conclusion : (1) there is the effect of democracy education through civic education with organizing activity indicator to political participation of student in the general election of regional heads; (2) there was no effect of democracy education through civic education with indicators of gender to political participation of student in the general election of regional heads; (3) there was no effect of democracy education through civic education with indicators origin of the faculty to political participation of student in the general election of regional heads; (4) there is the effect of democracy education through civic education with indicators of the age to political participation of student in the general election of regional heads; (5) there is the effect of democracy education through civic education with indicators origin of the school to political participation of student in the general election of regional heads; (6) there is democracy education through civic education contributes to political participation of student in general election of regional heads. The implication as: input to develop educational disciplines; learning vehicle for democracy educational materials; as an attempt to develop civic education dimensional learning approach in education curricular programs democracy; vehicle pushing for civic education teachers and lecturers to improve their learning competencies. Recommended for: students should develop consistency democracy; The academic community, practitioners should develop competency profiles; The Ministry of Education and Culture, and the Ministry of Research and Higher education should accommodate the conceptual ideas of democracy values in teaching of civic education. Mardi Widodo, Disertasi 2015 Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang pendidikan demokrasi melalui pendidikan kewarganegaraan (PKn), dan partisipasi politik mahasiswa dalam pemilihan umum kepala daerah (pemilukada). Penelitian ini mengambil lokasi pada fakultas-fakultas di UNIROW Tuban. Permasalahannya adalah ada tidaknya pengaruh dan kontribusi pendidikan demokrasi melalui PKn dengan indikator-indikatornya terhadap partisipasi politik mahasiswa dalam pemilihan umum kepala daerah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menggali, mengkaji, menganalisis, mengorganisasikan informasi teoretik, empirik dalam mengembangkan kon-sep pemikiran tentang pendidikan demokrasi, partisipasi politik mahasiswa dalam pemilu-kada. Dasar pemikirannya adalah dalam realitasnya belum maksimalnya pembelajaran PKn sebagai program kurikuler pendidikan demokrasi; tingkat partisipasi politik mahasiswa yang belum maksimal. Metode penelitianya adalah survai, dengan desain korelasional. Populasi penelitiannya mahasiswa UNIROW Tuban, dan sampelnya 300 responden. Pengambilan sampelnya secara multiple stage random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data: tes, kuesioner, dokumentasi, dan pengamatan. Data penelitiannya diolah dan dianalisis dengan statistik melalui analisis jalur. Hasil temuannya : (1) ada pengaruh pendidikan demokrasi melalui PKn dengan indikator aktivitas berorganisasi, usia, dan asal sekolah terhadap partisipasi politik mahasiswa dalam pemilukada; (2) tidak ada pengaruh pendidikan demokrasi melalui PKn dengan indikator jenis kelamin dan asal fakultas terhadap partisipasi politik mahasiswa dalam pemilukada; (3) Ada kontribusi nyata pendidikan demokrasi melalui PKn dengan indikator-indikatornya terhadap partisipasi politik mahasiswa dalam pemilukada. Kesimpulannya : (1) ada pengaruh pendidikan demokrasi melalui PKn dengan indikator aktivitas berorganisasi terhadap partisipasi politik mahasiswa dalam pemilukada; (2) tidak ada pengaruh pendidikan demokrasi melalui PKn dengan indikator jenis kelamin terhadap partisipasi politik mahasiswa dalam pemilukada; (3) tidak ada pengaruh pendidikan demokrasi melalui PKn dengan indikator asal fakultas terhadap partisipasi politik mahasiswa dalam pemilukada; (4) ada pengaruh pendidikan demokrasi melalui PKn dengan indikator usia terhadap partisipasi politik mahasiswa dalam pemilukada; (5) ada pengaruh pendidikan demokrasi melalui PKn dengan indikator asal sekolah terhadap partisipasi politik mahasiswa dalam pemilukada; (6) ada kontribusi pendidikan demokrasi melalui PKn dengan indikator-indikatornya terhadap partisipasi politik mahasiswa dalam pemilukada. Implikasinya sebagai : masukan untuk mengembangkan pendidikan disiplin; wahana pembelajaran materi pendidikan demokrasi; sebagai upaya untuk mengembangkan dimensi pendekatan pembelajaran PKn dalam program kurikuler pendidikan demokrasi; wahana mendorong bagi guru dan dosen PKn untuk meningkatkan kompetensi pembelajaran. Rekomendasi bagi: mahasiswa seyogianya mengembangkan konsitensi berdemokrasi; Komunitas akademik, praktisi seyogianya mengembangkan profil kompetensi ; Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan dan Kementerian Riset dan Pendidikan tinggi hendaknya mengakomodir gagasan konseptual nilai demokrasi dalam pembelajaran PKn. Kementerian Dalam Negeri seyogianya mengkaji dan menata proses pemilihan umum kepala daerah secara langsung Kata Kunci : Pendidikan Demokrasi, Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan, Partisipasi Politik Mahasiswa, Pemilihan Umum Kepala Daerah.
