Abstract
Penelitian yang berjudul “Penerapan Metode SURTABAKU (Survei, Tanya, Baca, Katakan, Ulangi) berbasis pendidikan karakter dalam Pembelajaran Membaca Pemahaman (Penelitian Eksperimen Kuasi terhadap Siswa Kelas XI Semester II di Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Kota Bandung)” dilatarbelakangi oleh kesulitan siswa memahami isi bacaan bila terdapat istilah-istilah, minat membaca rendah, kebiasaan membaca kurang, dan paradigma siswa bahwa membaca itu membosankan. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini untuk menguji efektivitas metode SURTABAKU (Survei, Tanya, Baca, Katakan, Ulangi) berbasis pendidikan karakter dalam pembelajaran membaca pemahaman. Sampel dalam penelitian ini masing-masing berjumlah 30 siswa pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol yang diambil secara purposive sampling. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen kuasi dengan desain nonequivalent control group design. Penelitian ini terdiri dari tiga perlakuan pembelajaran membaca pemahaman dengan metode SURTABAKU (Survei, Tanya, Baca, Katakan, Ulangi) berbasis pendidikan karakter yang dilakukan di kelas eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode SURTABAKU (Survei, Tanya, Baca, Katakan, Ulangi) berbasis pendidikan karakter efektif dalam pembelajaran membaca pemahaman. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan tes awal dan tes akhir diperoleh t_hitung ≥ t_tabel atau 3,961 ≥ 2,000. Hal ini berarti Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima, atau dengan perkataan lain terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa di kelas eksperimen dan siswa di kelas kontrol. The research, entitled "Application of SURTABAKU (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review) Method Based Character Education in Learning Reading Comprehension (Quasi Experimental Research to Student at 11th Grade 2nd Semester in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Kota Bandung)" is motivated by the difficulties students understand the content readings when there are terms, interest in reading is low, the habit of reading less, and the paradigm of students that reading is boring. The purpose of this research was to test the effectiveness of the SURTABAKU (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review) method based character education in teaching reading comprehension. The sample in this research each class numbered 30 students in the experimental and control classes are taken by purposive sampling. The method used in this research is a quasi experimental method with nonequivalent control group design. This research consisted of three treatment in learning reading comprehension of SURTABAKU (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review) based character education conducted in the experimental class. The results showed that the SURTABAKU (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review) method based character education effective in learning reading comprehension. Based on the results of the calculation of the initial test and final test ttabel or obtained thitung ≥ 3,961 ≥ 2,000. This means that Ho is rejected and Ha is received, or in other words there is a significant difference between the reading comprehension of students in the experimental class and the students in the control class.
