Abstract

Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan uji efikasi ekstrak limbah penyulingan minyak akar wangi (Vetiveria zizanoides) terhadap nyamuk Aedes aegypti, yang merupakan vektor utama penyakit Demam Berdarah Dengue (DBD). Pada penelitian sebelumnya, diketahui bahwa ekstrak limbah penyulingan minyak akar wangi terbukti efektif sebagai biolarvasida untuk nyamuk Aedes aegypti. Uji efikasi yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini meliputi uji ovisida, anti-oviposisi, dan adultisida dalam bentuk dupa terhadap nyamuk Aedes aegypti. Deret konsentrasi ekstrak yang digunakan pada uji ovisida dan anti-oviposisi yaitu 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, dan 5000 ppm serta kadar ekstrak yang digunakan pada uji adultisida dalam bentuk dupa yaitu 0,7; 1,4; 2,1; 2,8; 3,5; dan 4,2% w/w. Hasil dari uji ovisida diperoleh persentase penetasan telur sebesar 41,3% pada konsentrasi ekstrak tertinggi dan 70,7% pada konsentrasi ekstrak terendah serta nilai LC50 sebesar 3425,6 ppm. Hasil dari uji anti-oviposisi diperoleh persentase repelan efektif (%RE) sebesar 87,0% pada konsentrasi ekstrak tertinggi dan 45,2% pada konsentrasi ekstrak terendah serta nilai indeks aktivitas oviposisi (IAO) sebesar -0,77 pada konsentrasi ekstrak tertinggi dan -0,29 pada konsentrasi ekstrak terendah. Hasil dari uji adultisida dalam bentuk dupa diketahui bahwa tidak terdapat nyamuk yang jatuh pada pengujian berbagai kadar ekstrak. Dengan demikian ekstrak limbah penyulingan minyak akar wangi memiliki aktivitas ovisida dan anti-oviposisi, akan tetapi tidak memiliki aktivitas adultisida terhadap nyamuk Aedes aegypti. This study tested efficacy of the extract waste oil refining vetiver (Vetiveria zizanoides) against Aedes aegypti mosquito, the main vector of the disease Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF). The previous study, extracts of vetiver oil refining waste proven effective as biolarvacide for Aedes aegypti mosquito. The efficacy test conducted in this study include ovicide, oviposition deterrent, and adulticide test in the form of incense against Aedes aegypti mosquito. Extract concentrations used in ovicide and oviposition deterrent test that are 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, and 5000 ppm, while extract concentration used in adulticide test in the form of incense that are 0.7, 1.4, 2.1, 2.8, 3.5, and 4.2% w/w. The ovicide test showed that percentage of 41.3% hatching eggs at the highest concentrations of extract and 70.7% in the lowest concentration of extract and LC50 values of 3425.6 ppm. The oviposition deterrent test showed that repellent effective percentage (%ER) of 87.0% in the highest concentration of extract and 45.2% in the lowest concentration of extract and the value oviposition activity index (OAI) of -0.77 in the highest concentration of extract and -0.29 in the lowest concentrations of extract. The adulticide test in the form of incense showed that there were no mosquitoes that fell on testing various levels of the extract. In conclusion, extracts of vetiver oil refining waste had ovicide and oviposition deterrent activity, but did not have adulticide activity against Aedes aegypti mosquito.
