Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh pentingnya peran guru saat mengajar. Guru TK dituntut dapat mengajar dengan gaya yang bervariasi agar anak dapat berperan aktif selama mengikuti pembelajaran. Ada lima tipe gaya mengajar yang sering diterapkan guru, yaitu: expert type, formal authority, personal model, facilitator, dan delegator. Pemahaman guru terhadap lima tipe gaya mengajar ini sangat penting agar selama proses pembelajaran guru dapat menyesuaikan gaya mengajarnya dengan kondisi anak dan sekolah. Penelitian ini mengungkap tentang gaya mengajar keseluruhan guru TK di Kecamatan Sukasari dilihat dari tingkat pendidikan, pengalaman mengajar, jenis TK, dan juga usia, dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif melalui pemberian kuesioner dalam bentuk pilihan ganda dengan lima pilihan alternatif jawaban yang diberikan kepada 52 guru yang menjadi responden. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 39 guru TK di Kecamatan Sukasari menerapkan gaya mengajar expert type, 2 orang guru menerapkan gaya mengajar formal authority, 3 orang guru menerapkan gaya mengajar personal model, dan 8 orang guru menerapkan gaya mengajar facilitator, dengan demikian tidak ditemukan guru yang menerapkan gaya mengajar delegator. Rekomendasi dari penelitian ini ditujukan kepada guru TK dan penyelenggara pendidikan agar terus berupaya meningkatkan wawasan mengenai gaya mengajar. Bagi peneliti selanjutnya diharapkan dapat melakukan penelitian yang lebih mendalam mengenai gaya mengajar, dengan menggunakan metode penelitian dan teknik pengumpulan data yang variatif serta melibatkan sampel yang lebih besar sehingga penelitian selanjutnya menghasilkan wawasan dan temuan yang lebih luas dan lengkap. This study was motivated by the importance of the role of the teacher while teaching. Kindergarten teachers are required to teach in a style that varies so that children can play an active role during the lesson. There are five types of teaching styles are often applied to teachers, namely: expert type, formal authority, personal models, facilitator and delegator. An understanding of the five types of teachers teaching style is very important that during the learning process the teacher can adapt their teaching style to the condition of the child and the school. The research reveals about the overall style of teaching kindergarten teacher in District Sukasari seen from the level of education, teaching experience, type of kindergarten, and also age, using quantitative descriptive method through the provision of multiple choice questionnaire with five alternative choice answers given to 52 teachers respondents. The findings show that 39 kindergarten teachers in the district Sukasari apply expert teaching style type, 2 teachers implementing formal authority teaching style, 3 teachers use personal teaching style models, and 8 teachers implement teaching styles facilitator, thus not found teachers who implement delegator teaching styles. Recommendations from this study addressed to kindergarten teachers and education providers in order to continue to improve insight into the teaching styles. For further research is expected to perform more in-depth research on teaching styles, using research methods and data collection techniques are varied and involve a larger sample so that subsequent studies generate insights and findings of more extensive and complete.
