Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah motivasi belajar siswa dalam permainan bola basket melalui sport education model lebih baik dari model pembelajaran tradisional. Hal ini penting karena mengingat bahwa motivasi sebagai dorongan dalam melakukan suatu aktifitas untuk mencapai sebuah tujuan .Penelitian ini menggunakan design randomized control group pretest-posttest design dilakukan pada siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Plosoklaten-Kabupaten Kediri dengan tehnik cluster random sampling dalam skala kelas, diambil dua kelas dimana satu kelas sebanyak 38 siswa sebagai kelompok eksperimen menggunakan sport education model dan satu kelas sebanyak 38 siswa sebagai kelompok kontrol menggunakan model pembelajaran tradisional. Kedua kelompok dinilai tingkat motivasinya pada pre-test dan post-test menggunakan intrument yang dikembangkan oleh Standage dkk, 2005. Treatment penelitian dilakukan selama 10 pertemuan pada kedua kelompok dengan waktu efektif 65 menit per pertemuan. Analisis data menggunakan aplikasi Ms. Excel dan SPSS 20.0 untuk mempermudah ketepatan analisis. Terdapat tiga hasil penelitian yaitu : Terdapat perbedaan skor pre-test dan post-test motivasi belajar siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran sport education model dalam permainan bola basket. Tidak terdapat perbedaan skor pre-test dan post-test motivasi belajar siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran tradisional dalam permainan bola basket. Motivasi belajar siswa dalam permainan bola basket melalui sport education model lebih baik dari model pembelajaran tradisional. The present study aimed at finding whether the students’ learning motivation in basketball through sport education model is better than the traditional model of teaching. It is important for motivation is among factors that serve to push someone to reach a goal. This experiment used randomized control group pretest-posttest design and was conducted at the seventh grade of SMP Negeri 1 Plosoklaten-Kab. Kediri. Two classes which consisted of 38 students served as the sample. The experiment group was taught using the sport education model while the other one uses traditional teaching. Cluster random sampling was the procedure to determine the sample in this research. The later procedure was to measure the students’ motivation during the pretest and post test using an instrument which was developed by standage et all, 2005. The treatments was conducted in 10 meetings for both group which lasted for 65 minutes per meeting. Data were analyzed using Ms. Excel and SPSS 20.0 to ease and provide with precise analysis. The results from the analysis showed that there is a different in motivation during pretest and posttest to students taught using sport education model; there is no different between motivation during the pretest and posttest in the students taught using traditional learning model; and the students motivation in basketball through sport education model is better than the traditional one.
