Abstract
Penelitian dimulai dari permasalahan krusial krisis ekologi yang terjadi di Kalimantan Selatan. Krisis ekologi yang dimaksud mencakup tiga aspek yakni: eksploitasi ruang, eksploitasi Pegunungan Meratus, dan kerusakan Sungai. Keselarasan Pendidkan IPS dalam merespon krisis ekologi yang terjadi di Kalimantan Selatan dapat dapat dilihat dari sumber belajar puisi. Puisi bertemakan lingkungan yang diciptakan oleh penyair Kalimantan Selatan mendeskripsikan bagaimana fenomena lingkungan terjadi. Puisi yang merupakan bagian dari karya sastra imajinatif memiliki makna yang patut diekplorasi untuk kepentingan pendidikan, tanpa terkecuali pada mata pelajaran IPS. Berkenaan dengan hal tersebut maka peneliti menggabungkan pendekatan sastra dengan IPS sebagai sebuah kajian guna memperkaya sumber belajar IPS. Metode penelitian adalah metode campuran (mix methods) dengan strategi Sekuensial Ekploratori. Desain penelitian terdiri dari dua fase, dimana fase pertama yakni kualitatif memiliki porsi lebih besar dibandingkan dengan fase kedua yakni kuantitatif. Penelitian dilakukan di Kalimantan Selatan dan diuji cobakan pada kelas VIII A sebagai kelas ekperimen dan VIII B sebagai kelas kontrol di SMP Negeri 6 Banjarmasin. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fenomena lingkungan yang muncul dalam puisi mencakup tiga sektor, yakni: eksploitasi ruang, eksploitasi Pegunungan Meratus, dan kerusakan sungai. Berdasarkan delapan puisi yang digunakan sebagai sumber belajar menyampaikan tiga makna nilai kesadaran lingkungan. yaitu: (1) rasa syukur terhadap kesederhanaan wilayah pinggiran, (2) Sikap peduli terhadap kelangsungan Pegunungan Meratus, dan (3) Menjaga eksistensi Sungai bagi Urang Banjar. Adapun strategi pemanfaatan puisi bagi guru IPS, meliputi: memilih dan mengupas makna puisi, mengintegrasikan puisi ke dalam pembelajaran, menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif, dan menambahkan media audio visual.Secara empirik efektifitas puisi dalam menumbuhkan nilai kesadaran lingkungan peserta didik dapat dilihat dari nilai kesadaran lingkungan yang diperoleh oleh kelas VIII A memperoleh rata-rata lebih baik dibandingkan di kelas VIII B. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa puisi sebagai sumber belajar IPS relevan digunakan oleh guru IPS untuk memberikan inovasi pembelajaran IPS yang lebih komunikatif dan menarik di kelas. The background of this research began from crucial problem of ecology crisis that happened in South Kalimantan Province. The ecology crisis here means covered three aspects namely: space exploitation, Meratus Mountain exploitation, and river contamination. The harmony of Social Studies in responding the ecology crisis that happened in South Kalimantan can be seen from the use of poetry as the learning source. Poetry with environmental theme which was written by some poets from South Kalimantan described how the environmental phenomena happened. Poetry as a part of imaginative literature has significance that should be explored to the educational interest, without exception on Social Studies subject. As a result, the researcher combined literature approach and Social Studies as a study to enrich the learning sources in Social Studies. The research design employed here is a mixed-method design with the Sequential Exploratory strategy. This design consists of two phases where the first phase that is qualitative has bigger part than the second phase that is quantitative. This research was conducted in South Kalimantan and was tried-out on VIII A class as an experimental class and VIII B as the control class in SMP Negeri 6 Banjarmasin. The results showed that eight poetryhave been used as the learning source conveyed three environmental awareness values. Those are: (1) thankfulness toward the simplicity of suburb, (2) caring attitude toward the continuance of Meratus Mountain, and (3) keeping the existence of rivers for Banjarese. Strategies on the use of poetry by Social Studies teachers encompass: choosing and uncovering meaning of poetry, integrating poetry in the teaching and learning, using cooperative learning models, and adding audio visual media. Empirically the effectiveness of poetry in arising environmental awareness value can be seen on the scores of environmental awareness which were gained by VIII A class that got higher average score than VIII B class. Therefore, it can be concluded that poetry as the learning source of Social Studies is relevant to be used by IPS teachers to give innovation in the learning of Social Studies to be more communicative and interesting in the classroom.
