Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena kematangan karir peserta didik SMP. Peserta didik SMP yang masuk pada kategori remaja menunjukan adanya fenomena kesenjangan antara tugas perkembangan karir yang harus dicapai dengan ketidakmampuan peserta didik dalam menentukan studi lanjutan, padahal seharusnya peserta didik sekolah menengah sudah mulai memikirkan masa depan mereka secara sungguh-sungguh, dan juga dapat dikatakan memiliki kesiapan dalam membuat keputusan karir yang tepat. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran profil kematangan karir peserta didik serta merumuskan program bimbingan karir berdasarkan profil kematangan karir peserta didik yang layak untuk diterapkan. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Lembang Tahun Ajaran 2014/2015 yang berjumlah 330 peserta didik. Jenis instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh adalah: (1) Profil kematangan karir peserta didik kelas VIII SMP berada pada kategori cukup matang; (2) rumusan program bimbingan karir berdasarkan profil kematangan karir peserta didik meliputi: rasional, deskripsi kebutuhan, tujuan, visi dan misi program, komponen program, rencana operasional, personel, sarana dan prasarana, pengembangan satuan layanan, serta evaluasi kegiatan layanan bimbingan dan konseling. The background to the research is the phenomenon of junior high school students’ career maturity. There is a gap between adolescent junior high school students’ completion of career development and their inability to determine their further study, whereas high school students should naturally start thinking about their future seriously or have been prepared to make an appropriate career decision making. The research aims to find the profile of students’ career maturity and to formulate career guidance program in accordance with the profile of students’ career maturity obtained. It adopted descriptive method with quantitative approach. The participants of this research consisted of 330 eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Lembang Academic Year 2014/2015. The instrument used was questionnaire. Research results show that: (1) The profile of junior high school students’ career maturity was at the category of sufficiently mature; (2) The formulation of career counseling program is based on the profile of students’ career maturity, including: rationale, needs description, aims, vision and missions, components, operational planning, personnel, infrastructure, development of service unit, and guidance and counseling.
