    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh situasi pemustaka perpustakaan perguruan tinggi yang kurang memanfaatkan sistem telusur elektronik (OPAC – Online Public Access Catalog) yang disediakan oleh perpustakaan untuk melakukan penelusuran koleksi perpustakaan dan kurangnya pemahaman sistem klasifikasi DDC yang telah diterapkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan persepsi pemustaka tentang sistem klasifikasi DDC dengan pemanfaatan sistem telusur elektronik di perpustakaan perguruan tinggi. Penelitian ini menjawab permasalahan penelitian yang telah dirumuskan, yaitu “Bagaimana hubungan persepsi pemustaka tentang sistem klasifikasi DDC dengan pemanfaatan sistem telusur elektronik ?.” Secara khusus permasalahan dalam penelitian ini yaitu: (1) persepsi pemustaka tentang sistem klasifikasi DDC; (2) pemanfaatan sistem telusur elektronik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif korelasional dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi dan sampel dari penelitian ini adalah anggota Perpustakaan STPB. Sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 94 pemustaka dengan menggunakan teknik sampling incidental. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan antara persepsi pemustaka tentang sistem klasifikasi DDC dengan pemanfaatan sistem telusur elektronik pada Perpustakaan STPB

    The research is based on the background of library users' in college libraries who lack in using electronic searching system (OPAC – Online Public Access Catalog) provided by the libraries to search the library collections, and the lack of understanding the applied DDC classification system. The research aims to examine the relation between library users' perception about DDC classification system with the use of electronic search system in college Library. The research attempted to answer the problems that have been formulated, i.e. "How is the relation between library users' perceptions about DDC classification system with the use of electronic search system?." Particularly, the problems in this research are: (1) library users' perceptions about DDC classification system; (2) the use of electronic search system. This research used correlational descriptive method with quantitative approach. Populations and samples of the research are members of STPB Library. Samples used are 94 library users' by using sampling incidental technique. The result of this research shows that there is a relation between library users' perceptions about DDC Classification system with the use of electronic system in STPB Library.
