Abstract

Penelitian ini berawal dari ketertarikan penulis terhadap seni melipat kertas (origami) yang merupakan salah satu kebudayaan yang berasal dari negara Jepang. Origami saat ini bukan hanya milik masyarakat Jepang saja, namun seni melipat kertas ini kini telah mendunia dan berkembang diberbagai belahan dunia, termasuk di Indonesia. Maya Hirai School of Origami merupakan salah satu lembaga pendidikan nonformal yang mengajarkan origami di Indonesia. Penulis tertarik mengangkat penelitian mengenai kegiatan dan manfaat kursus di Maya Hirai School of Origami untuk lebih mengetahui manfaat dan kreativitas yang bisa di kembangkan dari origami. Banyak orang beranggapan origami hanya sebatas seni melipat kertas berbentuk pesawat, perahu dan burung yang biasa di ajarkan di taman kanak-kanak. Melalui penelitian ini penulis ingin memberikan pemahaman kepada masyarakat mengenai manfaat dari seni melipat kertas yang diajarkan di Maya Hirai School of Origami agar seni melipat kertas yang terlihat sederhana ini dapat memberikan manfaat dan kontribusi lebih pada dunia pendidikan di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriftif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan studi literatur, pengamatan langsung (observasi), wawancara, dokumentasi tertulis dan data visual, serta studi pustaka. Analisis data yang dilakukan dengan pendekatan multidisipliner. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dari hasil penelitian bahwa kegiatan kursus menggunakan metode praktek yang dipandu dan dibimbing lansung oleh instruktur. Diperoleh rancangan kegiatan dari pelaksanaan pembelajaran sebagai rencana pelaksanaan sistem pembelajaran sehingga dicapai hasil yang optimal pada manajemen kursus di Maya Hirai School of Origami. Terdapat beragam pengembangan hasil kursus, ada yang hanya sekedar menyalurkan hobi berkarya seni, maupun untuk mencari peluang berwirausaha dibidang industri kreatif. Sebagai rekomendasi pada kursus origami di Maya Hirai School of Origami akan lebih menarik apabila pada kegiatan kursus juga dimasukan permainan-permainan yang berhubungan dengan materi origami yang di ajarkan agar para peserta yang mayoritas anak-anak dapat lebih antusias mengikuti kursus. This study originated from the interest of the authors of the art of paper folding (origami) which is one of the cultures that originated from Japan. Origami is now not only belong to the Japanese people, but the art of paper folding has now grown worldwide and in various parts of the world, including in Indonesia. Maya Hirai School of Origami is one of the non-formal educational institution that teaches origami in Indonesia. Authors interested in raising research on the activities and benefits of the course in Maya Hirai School of Origami to know more about the benefits and creativity that can be developed from origami. Many people assume only limited origami paper folding art form of aircraft, boats and birds commonly taught in kindergarten. Through this study the author would like to give an understanding to the public about the benefits of being taught the art of folding paper in Maya Hirai School of Origami paper folding art that looks simple it can provide benefits con contribute more to the world of education in Indonesia. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data was collected with the study of literature, direct observation (observation), interviews, written documentation and visual data, and literature. Data analysis was performed with a multidisciplinary approach. The conclusion of the research that course activities using guided practice and guided directly by the instructor. Retrieved draft of the implementation of learning activities as planned implementation of learning systems so that optimum results are achieved in the management course in Maya Hirai School of Origami. There are various development outcomes of the course, there were just a hobby work of art, as well as to look for entrepreneurial opportunities in the field of creative industries. As a recommendation on origami courses in Maya Hirai School of Origami will be more interesting if the activities of the course are also included games related material taught origami so that the participants that the majority of children can be more enthusiastic about the course.
