Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji peningkatan pemahaman orang tua dalam menstimulasi perkembangan bahasa anak melalui program parenting. Selain itu, turut mengkaji tentang pemahaman orang tua dalam hal perkembangan bahasa anak, penyusunan rencana dan pelaksanakan kegiatan guna menstimulasi perkembangan bahasa anak. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh ibu yang memiliki anak usia 4-6 tahun di kampung Rancapacing, Kecamatan Gedebage Kabupaten Bandung Timur yang berjumlah 20 orang. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian tindakan kolaboratif antara peneliti, guru, dan orang tua. Analisis data dengan menggunakan mixed method, analisis kuantitatif dilakukan untuk menilai bagaimana peningkatan pemahaman orang tua dalam menstimulasi perkembangan bahasa anak sebelum dan setelah dilaksanakan program parenting dengan menghitung data pretes, data posttest, dan gain dari hasil wawancara dengan orang tua. Sedangkan analisis kualitatif guna membahas aktivitas dan sikap orang tua selama proses kegiatan parenting dilaksanakan. Berdasarkan analisis data, sebelum dilaksanakan program parenting menunjukkan bahwa dari 20 orang tua terdapat 10 orang yang memiliki pemahaman rendah, 5 orang sedang dan 5 orang memiliki pemahaman tinggi dalam menstimulasi perkembangan bahasa anak. Setelah dilaksanakan program parenting analisis data menunjukkan dari 20 orang tua, 15 orang memiliki pemahaman tinggi, 4 orang sedang dan 1 orang rendah. Pengolahan data sebelum dan sesudah program parenting menunjukkan bahwa telah terjadi peningkatan pemahaman pada orang tua dalam menstimulasi perkembangan bahasa anak. Improving parents’ understanding in stimulating the language development of the early childhood through parenting program ( a collaborative action research at Rancapacing Village, Gedebage District, East Bandung Regency) This research aimed at investigating parents’ understanding in stimulating the language development of the early childhood through parenting program. Besides, this research also investigated the language development, discussing parents’ understanding toward their child’s language development, parents’ understanding in arranging the plan and their understanding in the implementation of the program to stimulate the language development of the early childhood. The subject of this research was all mothers who had child aged 4-6 years old at Rancapacing Village, Gedebage District, East Bandung Regency consisting of 20 persons. This research employed collaborative action research. The data gotten were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. Quantitative data were obtained from pre-test, post-test and gain taken from interview result. These data were analyzed to see the improvement of parents’ understanding. Meanwhile, the qualitative data were used to investigate the activity and parents’ attitude during the implementation of Parenting program. Based on the result of these data, it showed that before implementing the parenting program there were 10 respondents with low result, 5 respondents indicating middle achiever, and the other 5 respondents gained high result in stimulating their child’ s language development. Then, after implementing the parenting program, it showed that from 20 respondents , 15 respondents indicating high result for understanding, 4 respondents were middle achiever, and 1 respondent was from low result indicating her understanding. From this result, it can be concluded that there was a significant improvement of the participated parents in terms of stimulating their child’s language development.
