Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan yang dialami peserta didik dalam keterampilan berbicara khususnya kemampuan membawakan acara untuk berbagai kegiatan. Salah satu faktor penyebabnya adalah kurangnya variasi cara mengajar dari pendidik yang memotivasi peserta didik untuk berani berbicara di depan publik. Peserta didik mengalami kesulitan untuk berbicara di depan publik karena rasa percaya diri yang kurang. Metode hypnoteaching hadir untuk memecahkan permasalahan tersebut. Ada pun tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hasil prates dan pascates membawakan acara untuk berbagai kegiatan dengan menggunakan dan tidak menggunakan metode hypnoteaching serta apakah terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dengan metode hypnoteaching dan kelas kontrol dengan metode ceramah. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Negeri 16 Bandung Tahun Pelajaran 2014/2015. Sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas VIII.3 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII.2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Metode penelitian ini adalah eksperimen kuasi dengan desain nonequivalent control group design. Melalui uji hipotesis diperoleh ttabel ≤ thitung ≥ ttabel, yaitu 1,9966 ≤ 2,68 ≥ 1,9966. Merujuk pada hasil uji hipotesis di atas, dapat disimpulkan bahwa Ha diterima sedangkan Ho ditolak. Artinya, terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan dari penerapan metode hypnoteaching dalam kemampuan membawakan acara untuk berbagai kegiatan. This study investigated students problems in developing speaking skill, particularly in developing the ability of hosting ceremonial for various events. The reason of the problem is the teachers lack of teaching variation in motivating the students to have courage to speak in the public. Therefore, students find the difficulties in public speaking due to their lack of confidence. Hypnoteaching method helps them to solve the mentioned problems. The aims of this study are to ascertain the result of pre-test and post-test in hosting ceremonial for various events by using and not using the hypnoteaching method and to know whether or not there are significant differences between the experimental class with the hypnoteaching method and the control class with the lecture method. The population of this research is 8th grade students of SMP Negeri 16 Bandung for the 2014/2015 academic year. The samples of the research are class VIII.3 as the experimental class and VIII.2 as the control class. The method used in this study is quasi experimental with nonequivalent control group design. The hypothesis test obtained ttabel ≤ thitung ≥ ttabel, yaitu 1,9966 ≤ 2,68 ≥ 1,9966. Thus, we can conclude that Ha is accepted and Ho is refused. It means that there are different significances in implementing hypnoteaching method in developing the ability of hosting ceremonial for various events.
