Abstract

Dalam karya ini penulis terinspirasi dari lukisan abstrak suprematisme karya Kasimir Malevich. Penulis ingin mencoba hal baru dan ingin mengembangkan serta mengeksplorasi patung abstrak dengan menggunakan media kayu. Selain itu juga penulis ingin membuat patung dengan konsep seperti puzzle dengan tujuan ingin membuat karya patung yang lebih menarik, unik dan menyenangkan sehingga dapat dijadikan karya patung yang interaktif dan dapat diterima oleh semua kalangan. Rumusan masalahnya yaitu, bagaimana konsep, proses, teknik dan visualisasi bentuk karya patung menggunakan media kayu dengan abstrak suprematisme sebagai gagasannya?. Tujuan dari penciptaan karya ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan konsep, proses, teknik dan visualisasi bentuk karya patung menggunakan media kayu dengan abstrak suprematisme sebagai gagasannya. Pembuatan patung kayu melewati beberapa proses penciptaan. Proses yang pertama yaitu pemilihan bahan kayu, kemudian pemotongan kayu, pengeleman, pengepresan, pemotongan, penyerutan, pembentukan, pemasangan, sampai dengan proses finishing. Karya pertama dinamai Wood One. Bentuk yang dipilih didominasi oleh bentuk-bentuk persegi. Karya kedua dinamai Wood Two. Bentuk yang dipilih didominasi oleh bentuk-bentuk silinder. Karya ketiga dinamai Wood Three. Pada karya ini semua objek terdiri dari bentuk-bentuk persegi dengan berbagai ukuran. Semua karya tidak terlepas dari penggunaan base. Base berbahan dasar akrilik dipilih untuk memberikan kesan melayang serta efek tiga dimensinya lebih terasa, sehingga apresiator dapat leluasa menikmati karya patung dari berbagai arah. Keunikan pada karya ini terletak pada pemasangan karya seperti puzzle, yaitu dengan memasukkan objek kayu pada base akrilik yang sudah dilubangi sesuai dengan bentuknya. Berdasarkan hasil penciptaan dan simpulan mengenai abstrak suprematisme sebagai gagasan berkarya seni patung dengan media kayu, maka penulis menyampaikan beberapa saran sebagai berikut. 1) Dalam pembelajaran membuat patung abstrak, media kayu dengan konsep puzzle ini bisa dijadikan alternatif media agar pembelajaran lebih menarik untuk siswa. 2) Perlu dilakukan penciptaan mengenai abstrak suprematisme sebagai gagasan berkarya seni patung dengan media-media lainnya. In this work the author is inspired by an abstract painting works of Kasimir Malevich Suprematism. The author wants to try new things and want to develop and explore the abstract sculptures using wood media. In addition, the authors wanted to make a sculpture with a concept like a puzzle with the aim to create a sculpture that is more interesting, unique and fun that can be used as an interactive sculpture and can be accepted by all people. The formulation of the problem, namely, how the concepts, processes, techniques and visualization form of sculptures using wood media with abstract Suprematism as the idea ?. The purpose of the creation of this work is to describe the concepts, processes, techniques and visualization form of sculptures using wood media with abstract Suprematism as an idea. Manufacture of wooden sculptures pass through several processes of creation. The first process is the selection of wood, then wood cutting, gluing, pressing, cutting, shavings, establishment, installation, up to the finishing process. The first work named Wood One. Preferred forms dominated by square shapes. Two works both named Wood. Preferred forms are dominated by cylindrical shapes. The third masterpiece named Wood Three. At this work all objects consist of square shapes with various sizes. All work is inseparable from the use of the base. Base made of acrylic chosen to give the impression of drift and more pronounced three-dimensional effect, so appreciators can freely enjoy the sculptures from various directions. The uniqueness of this work lies in the installation works like a puzzle, by inserting a wooden object at the base of acrylic that has been perforated in accordance with the shape. Based on the results and conclusions concerning the creation of abstract art Suprematism as the idea of working with the media sculptures of wood, the authors submit a few suggestions as follows. 1) In the study abstract sculpture, wood media with the concept of this puzzle can be used as an alternative medium for learning more interesting for students. 2) It should be done regarding the creation of abstract art Suprematism as the idea of sculpture works with other media.
