Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian ini didasari oleh kurangnya bahan ajar sastra yang menarik dan menyenangkan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif komparatif. Dengan membaca novel terjemahan Jepang Totto-chan Gadis Cilik di Jendela, siswa dikenalkan dengan karya sastra negara lain. Selain memperkaya pengetahuan siswa tentang negara Jepang, siswa dapat membandingkan novel tersebut dengan novel Indonesia Guru Favorit Xenia. Dari hasil perbandingan tersebut diharapkan siswa dapat menulis teks penggalan novel. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menjawab masalah-masalah sebagai berikut: (1) mendeskripsikan struktur novel Totto-chan Gadis Cilik di Jendela dan Guru Favorit Xenia; (2) mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai budaya yang terdapat dalam novel Totto-chan Gadis Cilik di Jendela dan Guru Favorit Xenia; (3) mendeskripsikan persamaan dan perbedaan kedua novel tersebut dari segi struktur dan nilai-nilai budaya; dan (4) pemanfaatan kedua novel tersebut sebagai bahan ajar apresiasi sastra di SMA/MA. Untuk menjawab masalah-masalah tersebut, digunakan tiga teori, yaitu teori sastra bandingan, teori Urutan Satuan Isi Cerita (USIC) yang bersumber dari strukturalisme naratologi Todorov, dan pendekatan kebudayaan. Setelah dilakukan pengkajian diketahui bahwa dalam novel Totto-chan Gadis Cilik di Jendela dan Guru Favorit Xenia ditemukan beberapa persamaan dan perbedaan struktur dan nilai-nilai budaya. Persamaan dalam struktur cerita meliputi alur, tema, tokoh, dan nilai-nilai budaya, yaitu: nilai beriman; ikhlas, kemauan keras, tanggung jawab, memanfaatkan waktu, persahabatan, musyawarah, mengasihi, dan memaafkan. Sementara perbedaan meliputi karakter tokoh utama, konflik, dan penyelesaiannya. Berdasarkan hasil kajian tersebut novel Totto-chan Gadis Cilik di Jendela dan Guru Favorit Xenia dapat dijadikan alternatif bahan ajar berupa modul untuk jenjang pendidikan SMA/MA. For research method, researcher use descriptive comparative method. By reading a translation Japanese novel Totto-chan Gadis Cilik di Jendela, introduce student to knowing literature another country. In addition to enriching the students' knowledge of the country of Japan, students can compare the novel to novel Indonesia Guru Favorit Xenia. From the comparison of these students are expected to write a novel fragment of text. This study was conducted to address the following issues: (1) describe the structure of the novel Totto-chan Gadis Cilik di Jendela and Guru Favorit Xenia; (2) describe the cultural values contained in the novel Totto-chan Gadis Cilik di Jendela and Guru Favorit Xenia; (3) describe the similarities and differences of the two novels in terms of structure and cultural values; and (4) the use of both the novel as a literary appreciation of the teaching materials in SMA/MA. To answer these problems, use the three theories, namely the theory of comparative literature, theory of Urutan Satuan Isi Cerita (USIC) which is derived from structuralism naratologi Todorov, and cultural approaches. From the results of the assessment indicate that the novel Totto-chan Gadis Cilik di Jendela and Guru Favorit Xenia and found some similarities and differences in the structure and values of the culture. Similarities in the structure of the story includes plot, theme, character, and cultural values, namely: the value of faith; sincere, willpower, responsibility, utilizing time, friendship, deliberation, loving, and forgiving. While the main character of the differences include, conflict, and resolution. Based on these results Totto-chan Gadis Cilik di Jendela and Guru Favorit Xenia teaching materials can be used as an alternative form of education modules for SMA/MA.
