Abstract
Pendidikan karakter dewasa ini tengah gencar dicanangkan oleh pemerintah mengingat banyaknya fakta yang muncul tentang runtuhnya moral, etika kejujuran, dan tanggung jawab yang dikhawatirkan akan terus berlanjut, seperti korupsi, penyuapan, dan hilangnya supremasi hukum yang terjadi kepada para penyelenggara negara hingga komponen bangsa lainnya terutama generasi muda. Dengan adanya penerapan kantin kejujuran diharapkan dapat menjadi langkah awal dalam upaya pendidikan karakter, dimana siswa dapat menumbuhkembangkan nilai karakter yang harus ia miliki dalam kehidupan sehari-harinya, seperti karakter jujur, mandiri, dan bertanggung jawab sehingga dapat menjadikan siswa sebagai warga negara yang baik (to be a good citizenship). Penelitian ini didasarkan pada empat rumusan masalah, antara lain: (1) Bagaimanakah bentuk program yang dicanangkan di dalam penerapan kantin kejujuran sebagai sarana pendidikan karakter siswa, (2) Bagaimanakah proses pelaksanaan kantin kejujuran sebagai sarana pendidikan karakter siswa, (3) Kendala apa yang dihadapi dalam penerapan kantin kejujuran sebagai sarana pendidikan karakter siswa, (4) Upaya apa yang harus dilakukan untuk mengatasi kendala dalam penerapan kantin kejujuran sebagai sarana pendidikan karakter siswa. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, studi dokumentasi, dan studi literatur. Tujuan utama penerapan kantin kejujuran adalah untuk membentuk karakter siswa agar menjadi warga negara yang baik. Bentuk program kantin kejujuran SMPN 14 Bandung yaitu melaksanakan pengamanan jajan anak yang tertuang dalam program “Pembinaan Kualitas Jasmani, Kesehatan dan Gizi” dan menumbuhkembangkan karakter jujur melalui kantin kejujuran yang tertuang dalam program “Pembinaan Budi Pekerti Luhur dan Akhlak Mulia”. Proses pelaksanaan kantin kejujuran di SMPN 14 Bandung sebagai sarana pendidikan karakter sudah berjalan cukup baik. Hal ini terbukti sejak didirikan selama lima tahun lebih, kantin kejujuran di SMPN 14 Bandung masih berdiri dan tidak mengalami kendala berarti yang menyebabkan kantin mengalami kerugian. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa para siswa SMPN 14 Bandung sudah menerapkan karakter jujur sehingga kantin kejujuran dapat berjalan optimal hingga saat ini. Kendala yang dihadapi dalam penerapan kantin kejujuran terdiri atas kendala internal dan eksternal, seperti kurang tersedianya sarana dan prasarana kantin kejujuran yang memadai. Upaya yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi kendala adalah dengan cara penyediaan fasilitas pendukung kantin kejujuran agar penerapan kantin kejujuran dapat berjalan dengan optimal sesuai dengan harapan. Character education today was heavily endorsed by the government in view of the many facts that emerge about the collapse of moral, ethical honesty, and responsibility are feared to continue, such as corruption, bribery, and the loss of the supremacy of law occurred to the organizers of the country to other country’scomponents, especially young generations. The application of honesty canteen is expected to be the first step in an effort to character education, where students can develop character values that should he have in his daily life, such as the character of an honest, independent, and responsible so as to make the students as good citizens (to be a good citizenship). This study was based on four formulation of the problem, those were: (1) What kind of program initiated in the application as a means of students’ character education, (2) How is the process of implementation of the canteen honesty as a means ofstudents’ character education, (3) What constraints faced in the application of honesty canteen as a means ofstudents’ character education, (4) What effortsthat should be done to overcome the obstacles in the implementation of honesty canteen as a means ofstudents’s character education. The approach used in this study was a qualitative approach. The method used was descriptive method. Data was collected through interviews, observations, documentation studies, and literature studies. The mainpurpose of the applications honesty canteen was to shape the character of students to be good citizens. The application of honesty canteen program in SMP 14 Bandung was, conducting safeguards contained in the child allowance program "Development of Physical Quality, Health and Nutrition" and foster honest character through honesty canteen set out in the program "Development of noble character and morals Majesty". The process of implementation of honesty canteen in SMP 14 Bandung as a means of character education was good enough. It was proved since its inception over five years, canteen honesty in SMP 14 Bandung still standing and did not experience significant problems that led to the cafeteria losses. It shows that the SMP 14 Bandung students have applied so thatthe canteen honesty could run optimally until now. The obstacles encountered in the application of honesty canteen consists of internal and external constraints, such as the lack of availability of infrastructure. The efforts were being made to overcome the obstacles was by providing support facilities of the canteen honesty so that the implication of honesty canteen can run optimally in line with expectations.
