Abstract

Burung hantu jenis Tyto Alba dapat dimanfaatkan menjadi pembasmi hama tikus pada lahan pertanian. Dikarenakan beberapa jenis burung hantu menjadikan tikus sebagai makanan utamanya, hal tersebut menjadi latar belakang skripsi penciptaan ini. Manusia hanya memanfaatkan siklus rantai makanan pada suatu ekositem, dimana burung hantu merupakan predator tikus, sehingga tidak menimbulkan resiko pencemaran pada lingkungan. Rumusan masalah pada penciptaan adalah, bagaimana konsep karakter dan prilaku burung hantu, dan ananlisis visual burung hantu dalam berkarya seni grafis proses screen printing teknik stencil blockout. Tujuan pembuatan skripsi penciptaan yaitu untuk mengeksplorasi konsep karakter dan prilaku burung hantu pada karya seni grafis proses screen printing teknik stencil blockout, serta menganalisis visual karya seni grafis berobjek burung hantu. Seluruh penggarapan karya berobjek burung hantu menggunakan teknik stencil blockout. Teknik ini merupakan salah satu teknik yang terdapat dalam cabang seni grafis screen printing. Merekam tekstur oil pastel atau dermatograph merupakan salah satu ciri khas dari stencil blockout. Maka dari itu, goresan-goresan khas oil pastel dan dermatograph sangat penting sebagai identitas serta ciri khas estetik dari teknik ini. Adapun hasil dari penciptaan yaitu menghasilkan enam karya seni grafis screen printing diantaranya memvisualkan burung hantu jenis serak sebanyak lima karya, dan beluk telinga pendek sebanyak satu karya. Keseluruhan karya memiliki ukuran yang tidak sama satu dengan yang lainnya, penggunaan warna yang beragam, dan dicetak dengan jumlah seri yang berbeda. Visualisasi dari keenam karya seni grafis ini menampilkan karakter, prilaku, gestur, serta ekspresi yang berbeda-beda pada setiap karyanya. Keenam karya seni grafis ini mengandung konsep yang merepresentasikan prilaku kehidupan serta karakter dari jenis burung hantu tersebut. Berdasarkan teori serta kajian terkait burung hantu, diantaranya terdapat pembahasan mengenai kelebihan serta karakter dari burung hantu jenis Tyto Alba dan Beluk Telinga Pendek. Disamping analisis konsep, terdapat pula pembahasan mengenai analisis visual karya seni grafis screen printing. Analisis visual karya dilatarbelakangi kajian teori mengenai unsur-unsur seni rupa, pengetahuan mengenai karakter serta prilaku burung hantu secara umum untuk jenis tertentu. Semua karya penciptaan ini banyak mengandung tekstur-tekstur sebagai daya tarik, sekaligus mengisi ruang kosong. Diharapkan skripsi penciptaan ini dapat menambah ragam ide atau gagasan dalam berkarya seni grafis, dan juga termasuk cabang-cabang ilmu seni rupa lainnya. Semoga informasi yang disajikan dapat menjadi suatu tambahan wawasan, dan ilmu pengetahuan bagi kalangan Pendidikan Seni Rupa pada khususnya, dan masyarakat luas pada umumnya. Kata kunci : Burung Hantu, Screen Printing Stencil Blockout. Owl Tyto Alba types can be utilized as a pest exterminator of rats on agricultural land. Because of some type owl make rat as food source, it becomes the background thesis creation. Humans only make use of the food chain cycle at a ekositem, where owls are predators of rats, so as not to pose a risk of pollution on the environment. The formulation of the problem to the creation is, how the concept of the character and behavior of owl, and owl visual ananlisis in the working process of printmaking technique of screen printing stencil blockout. The purpose of the thesis is to explore the concept of the creation of the character and behavior of owls on graphic artwork process screen printing stencil technique blockout, and analyze the visual graphic art owl object. The entire process works owl object using a stencil technique blockout. This technique is one of the techniques contained in the graphic arts branch of screen printing. Record the texture of oil pastel or dermatograph is one of the typical characteristics of stencil blockout. Thus, the scratches typical of oil pastel and dermatograph are very important as identity and aesthetic characteristics of this technique. s a result of the creation of the six graphic works of art produce screen printing them visualize the kind of Tyto Alba owl five works, and Beluk Telinga Pendek outs as much as one work. Overall the paper has a size that is not equal to each other, the use of various colors, and printed with a number of different series. Visualization of graphic artwork in the sixth featuring the character, attitude, gestur, as well as the different expressions on each of his work. This graphic artwork sixth contains concepts that represent the behavior of the life and character of the owl species. Based on theory and related study owls, among them there is a discussion of the advantages as well as characters from Tyto Alba types and Beluk Telinga Pendek. Besides analysis concept, there is also a debate on analysis visual works of art graphic a screen printing. Analysis of visual works derived from the study of the theory about the elements of art, knowledge about the character and behavior of owls in General for certain types. All the works of the creation of this contains a lot of textures as an attraction, as well as to fill the empty space. The creation of this thesis is expected to be able to add various ideas or ideas in graphic art works, and also includes the branches of other art disciplines. Hopefully the information presented can be an additional insights, and Science Education for the fine arts in particular, and society in General. Key words: Owl, Screen Printing Stencil Blockout.
