Abstract
Kabupaten Purwakarta merupakan salah satu sentra penghasil manggis di Indonesia. Untuk memenuhi peluang terhadap tingginya permintaan manggis baik untuk pasar domestik maupun ekspor dalam upaya mewujudkan manggis sebagai buah primadona ekspor, Pemerintah Kabupaten Purwakarta telah mengembangkan tanaman manggis secara bertahap. Penelitian ini mengkaji tingkat hubungan usahatani manggis dengan kondisi sosial ekonomi masyarakat di Kecamatan Wanayasa Kabupaten Purwakarta. Adapun masalah penelitian ini terfokus pada (1)Faktor-faktor geografis apa yang mendukung usahatani manggis; (2)Hubungan usahatani manggis dengan pendapatan, pendidikan, kesehatan, tingkat kepemilikan rumah dan tingkat kepemilikan sarana informasi dan transportasi masyarakat petani manggis. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi wilayah adalah 4 desa yaitu Babakan, Sumurugul, Cibuntu dan Taringgul tonggoh. Sedangkan populasi manusia seluruh petani yang terdapat di empat desa tersebut dengan sampel sebanyak 95 responden. Variabel dalam penelitian ini yaitu usahatani dan kondisi sosial ekonomi. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi lapangan, angket, studi literatur dan dokumentasi serta teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik penghitungan analisis Rank Spearman. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan jenis tanah, iklim, suhu, curah hujan merupakan kondisi fisik yang mendukung usahatani manggis. Jenis tanah yang ada di lokasi penelitian merupakan jenis tanah lempung berpasir yaitu jenis tanah yang memiliki kandungan unsur hara dan humus yang cukup sehingga ideal untuk pertanian. Iklim di Kecamatan Wanayasa masuk ke dalam zona sedang yang berada pada ketinggian 700-1500 mdpl. Suhu ideal berada pada 22-23oC, curah hujan 1500-2500 mm/tahun. Berdasarkan kondisi fisik yang ada di Kecamatan Wanayasa, terdapat kesesuaian dengan dengan syarat tumbuh manggis. Terdapat hubungan usahatani manggis dengan pendapatan, pendidikan, kesehatan, kepemilikan rumah, dan sarana informasi dan transportasi dengan tingkat hubungan yang rendah. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat kekuatan hubungan yang rendah usahatani manggis dengan kondisi sosial ekonomi masyarakat di Kecamatan Wanayasa Kabupaten Purwakarta. Kabupaten Purwakarta is a one of center for mangosteen largest producer in Indoensia. To meet the high demand for good opportunities against mangosteen for the domestic market and exportation in the pursuit of mangosteen as the fruit of export prima donna, the district government Purwakarta has developed plant mangosteen gradually. The formulation of problems in this study is 1 of what geographical factors that supports the cultivation of mangosteen in Kecamatan Wanayasa Kabupaten Purwakarta? 2) how is the relation of the cultivation of mangosteen with income of farmers community mangosteen in Kecamatan Wanayasa Kabupaten Purwakarta? 3)how mangosteen cultivation of relations with the education of farmers community mangosteen in Kecamatan Wanayasa Kabupaten Purwakarta? 4)how mangosteen the cultivation of relations with the level of health of farmers community mangosteen in Kecamatan Wanayasa Kabupaten Purwakarta? 5)how the mangosteen cultivation of relations with the level of home ownership farmers mangosteen in Kecamatan Wanayasa Kabupaten Purwakarta? 6)how the mangosteen cultivation of relations with the level of ownership information facilities and transportation farmers mangosteen in Kecamatan Wanayasa Kabupaten Purwakarta? There are areas of the population in this research at 4 is babakan village , sumurugul , taringgul tonnggoh and cibuntu .While human pupulation all farmers who are on the four villages and sample a sample of areas in this research is part of the administrative the four villages to the population research with human 95 sample of respondents .This research was done using a method of descriptive quantitative. Variable in this research is the cultivation of economic and social conditions. Done with observation of data collection techniques the field , poll , the study of literature and documentation as well as engineering analysis of the calculation of data analysis using a technique to understand cultivation of relations rank spearman mangosteen with social and economic conditions of farmers community in kecamatan wanayasa purwakarta district. From the results of research shows there is a relationship of farming income with mangosteen, education, healthcare, home ownership and the means of information and transportation each with a low level of relations. Thus, the result of the research indicated that there is the relationship of the farming business mangosteen with the socio-economic situation of the community in Kecamatan Wanayasa Kabupaten Purwakarta with low relations power.
