Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara celebrity worship dengan kesehatan mental fans K-pop di HKLC Bandung yang berada pada masa remaja. Desain penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Penentuan subjek sebanyak 107 orang menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data diperoleh dengan memodifikasi kuisioner Celebrity Attitude Scale (CAS) yang dibuat oleh McCutcheon dan kuisioner kesehatan mental yang disusun oleh peneliti sendiri dari karakteristik kesehatan mental Schneider. Hasil penelitian berupa hasil uji korelasi antara tipologi celebrity worship dan kesehatan mental menunjukkan bahwa tahap entertainment social memiliki korelasi positif dengan kesehatan mental, tahap intense personal feeling memiliki korelasi negatif dengan kesehatan mental, dan tahap borderline pathological memiliki korelasi negatif dengan kesehatan mental; penelitian ini memeroleh temuan celebrity worship fans K-pop di HKLC Bandung berada pada tingkat sedang (intense personal feeling) dan kesehatan mental fans K-pop di HKLC Bandung berada pada tingkat kurang sehat mental. This research aims to determine the relationship between celebrity worship with mental health of K-pop fans, especially of member HKLC Bandung who are in adolescent. The design of this research is quantitative with correlational method. The determination of subject (N = 107) in this research used a purposive sampling technique. Datum were obtained by modifying a Celebrity Attitude Scale (CAS) questionnaire proposed by McCutcheon, a mental health questionnaire proposed by the writer, and characteristics of mental health proposed by Schneider. Result of this research is correlation between typology of celebrity worship and mental health among K-pop fans in HKLC Bandung showed that entertainment social had positive correlation with mental health. Intense personal feeling and borderline pathological had negative correlation with mental health; additional results of this research are K-pop fans in HKLC Bandung had middle level (intense personal feeling) of celebrity worship and K-pop fans in HKLC Bandung had poor mental health state.
