Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara prasangka etnis Jawa terhadap etnis Sunda dengan penyeleksian calon pasangan hidup dari etnis Sunda. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Pengambilan data dilakukan melalui media sosial. Subjek penelitian ini, yaitu masyarakat Etnis Jawa yang tinggal di Kota Bandung, berusia 20-30 tahun dan belum menikah. Teknik sampling yang digunakan, yaitu purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian ini adalah 1) Prasangka etnis Jawa yang tinggal di Bandung terhadap etnis Sunda berada pada kategori sedang cenderung rendah 2) Penyeleksian calon pasangan hidup dari etnis Sunda berada pada kategori cukup selektif 3) Terdapat korelasi yang positif dan signifikan antara prasangka etnis Jawa terhadap etnis Sunda dengan penyeleksian calon pasangan hidup dari etnis Sunda dengan koefisien korelasi 0.404. Saran untuk penelitian ini, yaitu 1) Peneliti selanjutnya melakukan penelitian ini dengan metode kualitatif 2) Peneliti selanjutnya melakukan penelitian serupa terhadap etnis yang berbeda, misalnya etnis Batak, dsb This study aims to determine the corellation of Javanese ethnic prejudice towards Sundanese with mate selection from Sundanese. Design of this research is quantitative approach with correlation method. The data are collected through social media. Javanese people who live in Bandung with average age of 20-30 years old and unmarried were involved as the subject of the research. Purposive sampling was used as the sampling technique. The results of the research are as follows 1) The ethnic prejudice of Javanese who live in Bandung towards Sundanese is at moderate to low category, 2) Mate Selection Javanesse from Sundanese is at moderate, 3) There is a significant and positive correlation between ethnic prejudice of Javanese towards Sundanese with mate selection from Sundanese with Correlation coefficient 0.404. Several suggestions for similar studies are as follows 1) Future researchers conduct this research by employing qualitative method, 2) The researchers conduct a similar study with different ethnics, for instance Bataknese, etc.
