Abstract

Literasi sains (LS) merupakan kemampuan untuk menggunakan pengetahuan sains untuk mengambil keputusan. Rancangan pembelajaran sains untuk memfasilitasi pengetahuan dan kompetensi literasi sains dilakukan berdasarkan analisis: profil LS siswa, observasi pembelajaran, dan Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) pada topik Suhu dan Pemuaian. Penelitian survey dengan metode crosssectional dilakukan di salah satu SMP Negeri di kota Bandung dengan melibatkan 120 sampel. Hasil tes menunjukkan profil LS pada domain pengetahuan: konten 55%, prosedural 40%, dan epistemik 57,83%. Sedangkan pada domain kompetensi: menjelaskan fonemena ilmiah 57,92%, mengevaluasi dan merancang penelitian ilmiah 50,62%, dan menginterpretasi data dan bukti ilmiah 42,36%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disusun rancangan pembelajaran sains dengan menambahkan beberapa perbaikan untuk melengkapi pembelajaran sebelumnya, yaitu: melatih siswa dalam mengajukan pertanyaan penyelidikan, mengidentifikasi variabel penelitian, membuat tabel penelitian berdasarkan identifikasi variabel, membuat dan menguji prediksi, merencanakan proses penyelidikan, mengubah data tabel ke dalam bentuk grafik; menginterpretasikan grafik, dan membuat kesimpulan berdasarkan data. Scientific literacy is the knowledge and understanding of the concepts and processes of science for an individual to make a decision. Science lesson plan for facilitate the knowledge and the competence of scientific literacy is based on the analysis of the students’ scientific literacy profile, learning observation, and lesson plans on temperature and expansion topic. This survey research with cross-sectional method was carried out at one of Junior High School in Bandung city and it involved 120 samples. Test results shown students’ scientific literacy profil of content knowledge 55%, 40%, procedural, and epistemic 57.83%. While the explain phenomena scientificly competency profile 57.92%, evaluate and design scientific enquiry 50.62%, and interpret data and evidence scientificly 42.36%. From the analysis of the profile students’ scientific literacy and learning observation and lesson plans on the temperature and expansion topic and then the scientific learning design needed addition of some improvements to complement the previous learning, namely: provide opportunity for student to ask the probing questions, identify the variables of the probing, create a table of research based on the identification of variables, to make and test predictions, planning process of investigation, change data table in graphical form, interpret graphs, to make conclusions based on data.
