Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hasil Uji Kompetensi Guru Bimbingan dan Konseling (BK) Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) yang rata-rata di bawah standar (Data LPMP 2012), dan hasil observasi awal peneliti menunjukkan bahwa mereka belum profesional dalam menyelenggarakan BK. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan model pelatihan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi profesional guru BK. Model penelitian R & D, dengan one-group Pretest-posttest design. Alat pengumpul data: observasi, wawancara, inventory dan dokumentasi. Pelatihan dilanjutkan dengan pendampingan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) sebagian besar guru BK memiliki kompetensi profesional; (2) sebagian besar guru BK telah melakukan kegiatan yang dapat meningkatkan kompetensi profesional, namun masih belum ada yang melanjutkan pendidikan (S2 BK) dan belum ada yang melakukan penelitian dalam BK; (3) sebagian besar guru BK telah menyelenggarakan kegiatan BK mulai dari merancang, melaksanakan, mengevaluasi dan sebagian kecil menguasai penggunaan alat tes/instrumen dalam BK; (4) pelatihan berbasis kompetensi dengan bentuk pendampingan disusun berdasarkan kebutuhan peserta, telah divalidasi oleh pakar ahli dan telah diimplementasikan; (5) pelatihan berbasis kompetensi telah teruji secara signifikan dan telah menghasilkan produk pelatihan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi profesional guru BK. Peneliti merekomendasikan: (1) guru BK, melatih kegiatan penelitian dan publikasi BK; (2) kepala sekolah, memperhatikan kegiatan menyelenggarakan BK, terutama pada sarana dan prasarana program; (3) pengurus MGBK-SMK, menjadwalkan pertemuan rutin, melatih praktek konseling (individu maupun kelompok) baik mengundang ahli atau sharing sesama guru BK; (4) peneliti selanjutnya, mengembangkan pelatihan berdasarkan test/uji kompetensi guru BK dan memperbanyak kunjungan dalam pendampingan; (5) pemerintah, memberikan kebijakan waktu yang kondusif bagi guru BK untuk mengikuti kegiatan seminar dan pelatihan. Memfasilitasi penyelenggaraan model pelatihan yang dihasilkan dalam penelitian ini sebagai salah satu model yang yang dapat meningkatkan kompetensi guru bimbingan dan konseling. A study based on the low average result of the Vocational School Counseling Teacher’s Competence Test (LPMP, 2012), preliminary study showed that Guidance and Counseling teachers were still not professional in performing counseling. This study aims design training model to improve guidance and counseling teachers’ competence. This Research and Development study used one-group pretest posttest design with observation, interview, inventory, and documentation as the source of data. The training is followed by assistance. The result of the study showed: (1) most of the teachers are professionally competent in conducting counseling; (2) most of counseling teachers have involved in the activities which can improve their professional competence, but some have not pursued further study (S2), and no one has conducted research on counseling; (3) most of the teachers conducted counseling from designing, implementing, and evaluating but only a few are skilled in utilizing counseling test/instrument; (4) competence-based training in form of assistance was designed based on the trainers’ needs and has been validated by experts and has been implemented; (5) competence-based training was significantly tested and produced training in improving guidance and counseling teacher’s professional competence in counseling. It is recommended that: (1) Guidance and counseling teachers train in research and publication on counseling; (2) principals pay more attention to guidance and counseling activities, especially on the program’s resources; (3) committee of MGBK-SMK schedule routine meeting, training the practice of individual or group counseling by inviting expert or sharing among teachers; (4) next researchers develop training based on the Counseling Teacher’s Competence Test and improving visitation during assistance; (5) government provide conducive time policy for the teachers to follow seminars and trainings.
