Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji masalah pencapaian dan peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis dan habits of mind antara siswa yang menggunakan pendekatan metaphorical thinking dengan pembelajaran biasa, serta interaksi antara faktor pembelajaran dan KAM terhadap kemampuan representasi matematis. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan kuasi eksperimen. Populasinya adalah seluruh kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Tanjungpinang. Sampelnya 36 siswa kelas VII.7 sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan 36 siswa kelas VII.5 sebagai kelompok kontrol. Analisis data menggunakan uji t, Mann-Whitney dan Anova dua jalur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan pencapaian dan peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol, tetapi tidak terdapat interaksi antara faktor pembelajaran dan KAM terhadap kemampuan representasi matematis. Untuk habits of mind siswa diperoleh bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. This research aims to study the problem of achievement and improvement of mathematical representation ability and habits of mind among students who use metaphorical thinking approach with the usual learning, as well as the interaction between learning and KAM factor in the ability of mathematical representation. This research is a quasi-experimental. The population is all class VII of SMP Negeri 1 Tanjungpinang. Samples are 36 students in grade VII.7 as the experimental group and 36 students in grade VII.5 as a control group. Analysis of the data using the t-test, Mann-Whitney and ANOVA two lanes. The results showed there were differences in achievement and improvement of mathematical representation ability between experimental group and the control group, but there was no interaction between learning and KAM factor in the ability of mathematical representation. For habits of mind of students acquired that there is no difference between the experimental group and the control group.
