Abstract
Penelitian ini mempunyai tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: (1) bentuk dan proses cara membangun rumah adat yang ada di Kampung Budaya Sindangbarang, (2) istilah-istilah yang berkaitan dengan arsitektur rumah adat di Kampung Budaya Sindangbarang, (3) pelarapan istilah-istilah arsitektur rumah Sunda ke dalam bahan pembelajaran membaca artikel budaya kelas XII. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis menggunakan metode deskripsi. Hasil dari penelitian ini terdapat 108 (100%) istilah hal-hal yang berkaitan dengan arsitektur rumah Sunda. Dari 108 (100%) istilah yang telah ditemukan, diklasifikasikan lagi berdasarkan: (1) macam-macam jenis bangunan rumah berdasarkan fungsinya terdapat 12 (11,1%) istilah, (2) ragam hias terdapat 2 (1,8%) istilah, (3) bagian yang ada di bawah rumah terdapat 11 (10,1%) istilah, (4) bagian yang ada di tengah rumah terdapat 15 (13,8%) istilah, (5) bagian yang ada di atas rumah terdapat 23 (21,2%) istilah, (6) proses cara mendirikan rumah terdapat 5 (4,6%) istilah, (7) bahan dan syarat-syarat yang mendukung dalam mendirikan rumah ada 25 (23,1%) istilah, dan peralatan yang diperlukan dalam mendirikan rumah ada 15 (13,8%) istilah. Penelitian ini bermanfaat untuk menambah pengetahuan mengenai kebudayaan. Adapun untuk dunia pendidikan, penelitian ini bisa dijadikan salah satu alternatif bahan pembelajaran membaca tentang artikel kebudayaan di kelas XII. This research has a purpose to describe: (1) The shape and process of building a traditional house located in Kampung Budaya Sidangbarang, (2) The terms related to Sundanese traditional house architecture in Kampung Budaya Sindangbarang, and (3) The application of the terms of Sundanese traditional house architecture in the. The data collection was analyzed by using descriptive method. This research revealed that there were 108 terms (100%) found related to traditional house of Sundanese architecture. Out of the 108 terms (100%), it was then classified by: (1) The kinds of house-building based on its function (12 terms, 11,1%), (2) its ornaments (2 terms, 1.8%); (3) the house section beneath the house-buiding (11 terms, 10,1%), (4) the house section inside the house-building (15 terms, 13.8%), (5) the house section above the house-building (23 terms, 21.2%), the process of building the house (5 terms, 4.6%), (7) the materials and requirements needed to build the house (25 terms, 23,1%), and the equipments used in building the house (15 terms, 13,8%). The research findings can be used as the contribution toward the research about cultures. Regarding the pedagogical implication, this study can be used as one of the teaching materials alternatives in the form of articles about cultures for Grade XII.
