Abstract

Skripsiiniberjudul “MeningkatkanKompetensiMembacaRitmeMelaluiMetode Kodaly Kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 8 Tasikmalaya.JudulinibermuladaripermasalahandalammatapelajaranSeniBudaya (senimusik, dalammateriritme) yang dilakukanpeneliti di SMP Negeri 8 Tasikmalaya.Penelitidisiniberperansebagai guru yang mencobamenerapkanmateriritmemelaluimetode Kodaly.Penelitianinibertujuan agar siswalebihmudahmenangkapmaterikhususnyamateriritme.Metode yang digunakandalampenelitianiniyaituPenelitianTindakanKelas (PTK) denganmenggunakan data kuantitatifdanmengalisisdata statistikdeskriptifsertamenggunakan data kualitatif.Bahan ajar disusunberdasarkanpengamatanpenelititerhadapkompetensisiswadalammateriritme.Melaluipenelitianini, guru bisamempelajariataumenggunakanmetode Kodaly untukpembelajaransenibudaya (senimusik, dalammateriritme) untukmemudahkansertameningkatkankompetensimembaca, menulis, danbermainpolaritmesuatulagudenganhasil yang sangatdiharapkan. This thesis entitled “Improving of Rhythm Reading Competence through Kodaly Method in Class of VIII SMP Negeri 8 Tasikmalaya. This study appeared from problems of art subject (art of music, rhythm material) conducted by the researcher in SMP Negeri 8 Tasikmalaya. The researcher acted as the teacher tried to apply rhythm material through Kodaly method. The study aimed to ease the student in understanding of rhythm material. The method used in this research was class room research. Data used were quantitative data, analysis of descriptive statistic. Teaching materials were compiled based on researcher observation toward students’ competence in rhythm material. The research was expected to be able to ease the students in learning or using kodaly method in art subject (art of music, rhythm material) and improve students skill in reading, writing, and playing rhythm pattern of song with results that is expected.
