Abstract
Kemampuan pemahaman konsep merupakan salah satu tujuan pembelajaran matematika di sekolah yang terdapat dalam panduan KTSP. Namun, pada kondisi pembelajaran matematika di sekolah saat ini masih menunjukkan rendahnya kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa. Untuk itu, diperlukan suatu pembelajaran yang mampu memberikan kesempatan kepada siswa untuk mengembangkan kemampuan pemahaman konsepnya. Salah satu pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan adalah pembelajaran matematika melalui model kooperatif tipe Co-op Co-op. Model pembelajaran ini memiliki sembilan langkah spesifik dalam pelaksanaanya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa yang menggunakan model kooperatif tipe Co-op Co-op dalam pembelajaran matematika lebih baik dibandingkan siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain kelompok kontrol pretest-postest. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII salah satu SMP Negeri di Lembang dengan sampel siswa kelas VIII I sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan siswa kelas VIII H sebagai kelompok kontrol. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep, lembar observasi, jurnal harian, angket. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran matematika melalui model kooperatif tipe Co-op Co-op lebih baik dibandingkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional. Kata Kunci: pemahaman konsep, model kooperatif tipe Co-op Co-op. The ability of understanding concept is one of the goals of learning mathematics in schools contained in SBC guide. However, mathematics learning conditions in school is still showing students' low ability in understanding concept. For that reason, we need to provide learning opportunity for students to develop the skills of understanding the concept. One of the lessons that can be used is mathematics learning through cooperative model of Co-op Co-op. This learning model has nine specific steps in its implementation. This study aims to determine whether an increase in the ability of understanding the concept of students who use the cooperative model of Co-op Co-op in learning mathematics better than students who used the conventional learning models. This research was a quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest control group. The population was eighth grade students of one junior high school in Lembang, the sample are students from class VIII I as experimental group and students from class VIII H as a control group. The research instruments in the research are tests in order to find out the ability in understanding concept, observation sheets, daily journals, and questionnaires. The conclusion of this research is the students who learn mathematics through cooperative model of Co-op Co-op is better in increasing the ability of understanding concept is than the students who used the conventional learning models.
