Abstract

Tanah lunak adalah suatu jenis tanah kohesif yang mempunyai sifat yang kurang menguntungkan dalam konstruksi teknik sipil yaitu kuat geser yang rendah dan kompresibilitasnya yang besar sehingga perlu diadakan usaha stabilisasi atau perbaikan terhadap tanah untuk meningkatakan kekuatan tanah. Pada penelitian ini bahan stabilisasi yang digunakan pada campuran tanah lunak adalah Abu Sekam Padi. Abu Sekam Padi yang digunakan mengandung kadar Silika (SiO2) sebesar 84,21 %. Persentase campuran abu sekam padi yang digunakan sebesar 5%, 10%, 15% dan 20% dengan variasi masa pemeraman 2 hari, 4 hari, dan 7 hari serta metode pencampuran yang dilakukan pda saaat kondisi kadar air asli. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan pengujian indeks properties dan engineering properties tanah campuran untuk mengehui pengaruh penambahan dari abu sekam padi.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa abu sekam padi yang digunakan pada campuran tanah lunak dapat meningkatkan nilai kuat tekan dan kuat geser tanah lunak, serta memperkecil indeks pengembangan tanah. Peningkatan Kuat tekan tekan dan kuat geser terus naik pada campuran 20% dengan masa pemeraman 7 hari dan nilai indeks pengembangan mengalami penurunan optimum pada campuran 15% 7 hari . Hasil ini membuktikan bahwa abu sekam padi dapat memberikan pengaruh baik terhadap tanah lunak.
Soft Soil is a type of cohesive soils that have unfavorable characteristics in the civil engineering construction is a low shear strength and high comprecibility that need stabilization or improvement of the land to increasing the strength of the soil. In this research, rice husk ash are used for stabilizing of soft soil mixing. The rice husk ash are used containing silica (SiO2) content as much as 84,21%. Percentage of rice husk ash mixture used of 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% with variant chracterization for past 2 days, 4 days, and 7 days as well as mixing method is done when the condition of original water content. This research tested an index properties and engineering properties af mixing soil to determine the effect of ading rice husk ash.
Thi research prove that rice husk ash which used for soft soil mix not only can improve a compressive strength and shear strenght of soft soil but also can minimize swelling indeks. The increasing compressive strenght and shear strenght continued rise in mixture of 20% with 7 days variant characterization and the swelling indeks value decreased in optimum mix 15% 7 days. The result prove that the rice husk ash can provides a good effect againts soft soil
