Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh tingginya angka pengangguran yang berasal dari lulusan SMK. Berdasarkan data Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) pengangguran yang berasal dari lulusan SMK justru menempati urutan teratas. Tujuan dilaksanakanya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keterserapan lulusan SMK pada dunia industri khusunya pada industri otomotif. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh lulusan SMKN di Kota Bandung. Sampel yang diambil dalam penelitian ini adalah lulusan SMKN 6 Bandung dan SMKN 8 Bandung program keahlian Teknik Kendaraan Ringan (TKR) tahun 2012 dan 2013. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa lembar wawancara yang ditujukan pada responden yaitu wakil kepala sekolah bidang hubungan industri, ketua Bursa Kerja Khusus (BKK) dan staf di industri yang menangani bagian Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM). Lembar wawancara tersebut dimaksudkan guna memperoleh data mengenai keterserapan lulusan SMK di dunia industri. Hasil pengolahan data menunjukan tahun 2012 keterserapan lulusan SMK Negeri di Kota Bandung pada industri otomotif berada pada kategori kurang dari setengahnya, diluar industri otomotif berada pada kategori sebagian kecil dan diseluruh sektor industri berada pada kategori lebih dari setengahnya. Tahun 2013 keterserapan lulusan SMK Negeri di Kota Bandung pada industri otomotif berada pada kategori kurang dari setengahnya, diluar industri otomotif berada pada kategori sebagian kecil dan diseluruh sektor industri berada pada kategori lebih dari setengahnya.
The background of this research is the high unemployment rate of vocational school graduates. Based on the data of Central Bureau of Statistic, the unemployment from the vocational education school graduates was ranked the top. The aim of this study is to know the absorption of vocational education school graduates in industrial world especially in automotive industry. This study use descriptive method with the quantitative approach. The populations of this research are the vocational education school graduates in Bandung. This research uses the participant from SMKN 6 Bandung and SMKN 8 Bandung in Light Vehicle Engineering program, in 2012 and 2013. The instrument that used on this research are in the form of sheets of interview addressed to the deputy head of school in the field of industrial relation, the chairman of special job fair, and the industrial staff that responsible for human resources. The sheets of interview are intended to obtain the data regarding the absorption of vocational education school graduates in industrial world. The result of data processing shows that, in 2012, the vocational education school graduates in Bandung on automotive industry is at less than half of the category, outside of the automotive industry is at the small part of the category and all of the industrial sector is at more than half of the category. In 2013, the vocational education school graduates in Bandung on automotive industry is at less than half of the category, outside of the automotive industry is at the small part of the category and all of the industrial sector is at more than half of the category.
