Abstract

Pemahaman matematis anak jalanan berusia remaja baru sampai operasi perkalian, mereka belum mengetahui materi tentang balok. Sebagian besar anak jalanan berusia remaja hanya bersekolah sampai tingkat SD. Oleh karena itu, peneliti ingin mengetahui pemahaman matematis dan motivasi belajar 3 anak jalanan berusia remaja pada materi balok melalui pembelajaran dengan bantuan media kerajinan tangan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Rumah Singgah Sahaja Cimahi. Subjek yang diteliti adalah 3 anak jalanan berusia remaja yang berada di rumah singgah tersebut, yaitu seorang berusia 15 tahun (remaja awal), seorang berusia 17 tahun (remaja pertengahan), dan seorang berusia 20 tahun (remaja akhir). Peneliti menyampaikan materi balok melalui kerajinan tempat tisu sehingga mereka lebih mudah memahami materi tentang balok dan mengetahui cara membuat kerajinan tempat tisu. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan adalah penelitian deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara triangulasi (gabungan) yaitu analisis terhadap hasil observasi, wawancara, angket, pretest, posttest, dan catatan harian anak jalanan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis terhadap pemahaman matematis, hanya anak jalanan berusia remaja pertengahan saja yang sudah mampu membayangkan jaring-jaring balok secara abstrak. Motivasi belajar anak jalanan berusia paling tua masih kurang jika dibandingkan dengan 2 anak jalanan lainnya yang berusia lebih muda. Mathematical comprehension in adolescence street children was only until multiplication operation, they didn't know yet about bar subject. Most of them only educated until elementry level. In order that, researcher try to find out mathematical comprehension and learning motivation in three adolescence street children, first subject is 15 years old (early adolescence), second subject is 17 years old (middle adolescence) and the last is 20 years old (end adolescence). Researcher taught bar subject through handicraft (tissue case) so that they will easier to understand the subject and also being able to make tissue case. Research method that use is descriptive research. Data collected by triangulation (combination data), suh as analysis of observation result, interview, questionnaire, protest, posttest, and subject (adolescence street children) daily report. According to analysis result of mathematical comprehension only street children in middle addolescence that could abastractly imagining bar net and learning motivation in end adolescence is lower than the younger one.
