Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh peningkatan kemampuan koneksi dan komunikasi matematis siswa melalui pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Teams Games Tournament. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi-eksperimen dengan desain kontrol pretes postes. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV SDN Cikuya 1 di Kecamatan Cicalengka pada semester genap tahun akademik 2013/2014, sebanyak 52 orang siswa. Penelitian ini terdiri dari kelas eksperimen sebanyak 26 orang siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Teams Games Tournament, dan kelas kontrol sebanyak 26 orang siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran klasikal. Berdasarkan tes, kemampuan matematis siswa dikelompokkan dalam tiga kelompok yaitu kelompok rendah, sedang, dan tinggi. Instrument pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen tes kemampuan koneksi dan komunikasi matematis. Dengan menggunakan uji-t, uji Mann-Whitney, dan ANOVA dua jalur, di peroleh beberapa kesimpulan, yaitu (1) terdapat perbedaan secara signifikan peningkatan kemampuan koneksi siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Teams Games Tournament dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran klasikal, (2) terdapat perbedaan secara signifikan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Teams Games Tournament dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran klasikal, (3) tidak terdapat pengaruh interaksi secara signifikan antara pembelajaran (kooperatif tipe Teams Games Tournament dan klasikal) dan kemampuan awal matematis siswa (rendah, sedang, dan tinggi) terhadap peningkatan kemampuan koneksi matematis, (4) tidak terdapat pengaruh interaksi secara signifikan antara pembelajaran (kooperatif tipe Teams Games Tournament dan klasikal) dan kemampuan awal matematis siswa (rendah, sedang, dan tinggi) terhadap peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Teams Games Tournament yang diterapkan dalam penelitian ini memberikan pengaruh secara signifikan terhadap peningkatan kemampuan koneksi dan komunikasi matematis siswa, sedangkan kelompok kemampuan berdasarkan pada pengetahun awal matematis tidak berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap peningkatan kemampuan koneksi dan komunikasi metematis siswa. Kata Kunci : Kemampuan Koneksi Matematis, Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis, Pembelajaran Kooperatif tipe Teams Games Tournament, Pembelajaran Klasikal. his study aimed to analyze the effect of an increase in the ability to connect and mathematical communication students through cooperative learning type Teams Games Tournament (TGT). This study used a quasi-experimental design with pretest posttest control. Samples were fourth grade students in District Cicalengka SDN Cikuya 1 Cicalengka the second semester of the academic year 2013/2014, a total of 52 students. This study consists of an experimental class, there are 26 students who obtain cooperative learning Teams Games Tournament, and the control class, there are 26 students who received classical learning. Based on the test, students' mathematical abilities are classified into three groups: low, medium, and high. Instrument data collection using test instruments and communication capabilities mathematical connections. By using t-test, Mann-Whitney test, and ANOVA two lines, obtained some conclusions, namely (1) there is a significant difference in the increase in connection ability of students who obtain cooperative learning Teams Games Tournament with students who obtain a classical learning, (2 ) there is a significant difference in improvement of communication skills of students who obtain cooperative learning Teams Games Tournament with students who obtain a classical learning, (3) there is no significant interaction effect between learning (cooperative Teams Games Tournament and classical) and the beginning of students' mathematical ability (low, medium, and high) to increase the ability of mathematical connection, (4) there is no significant interaction effect between learning (cooperative Teams Games Tournament and classical) and the beginning of students' mathematical ability (low, medium, and high) to the improvement of communication skills mathematically. Cooperative learning Teams Games Tournament which is applied in this study provide significant influence on the improvement of the ability of students' mathematical connections and communication, while the ability is based on the initial mathematical knowledge does not significantly affect the increase of connection and communication capabilities metematis students Keywords: Ability Mathematical Connections, Communication Ability Mathematically, Cooperative Learning typeTeams Games Tournament, Classical Learning.
