Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kelas IV A SDN 6 Cikidang. Jumlah siswa yang dijadikan subjek dalam penelitian ini 28 siswa, terdiri atas 14 orang siswa laki-laki dan 14 orang siswa perempuan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pelaksanaan dan respon siswa pada pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan metode problem solving serta untuk mengetahui kemampuan berpikir kritis matematika siswa pada materi pecahan dengan menggunakan metode problem solving model Polya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas Model Kemmis & McTaggart melalui tiga siklus. Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan berupa Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) dan Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS). Untuk memperoleh data hasil penelitian, dibuat instrumen pengumpul data. Analisis data yang dipakai dengan cara analisis kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu pelaksanaan pembelajaran selama melaksanakan penelitian secara umum telah berlangsung dengan baik, respon siswa secara umum telah baik, serta terdapat peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematika tersebut dibuktikan dengan indeks gain skor rata-rata kelas dari Siklus I ke Siklus II sebesar 0,40 dengan interpretasi sedang dan indeks gain skor rata-rata kelas dari Siklus II ke Siklus III sebesar 0,48 dengan interpretasi sedang. Penulis merekomendasikan kepada guru yang mengajar matematika dapat menerapkan metode problem solving model Polya dengan perencanaan dan pelaksanaan yang baik agar kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi pecahan dapat meningkat.

This study was conducted in class IV A 6 Cikidang SDN. The number of students as subjects in this study 28 students, consisting of 14 male students and 14 female students. The purpose of this study was to determine how the implementation and student responses on the learning of mathematics by using methods of problem solving and critical thinking skills to determine students' mathematical fractions in the material using a problem solving method Polya model. The research method used in this study was Classroom Action Research Model Kemmis & McTaggart through three cycles. Learning tools developed in the form of Lesson Plan and the Student Worksheet. To obtain research data, data collection instruments were made. Analysis of the data used by means of quantitative and qualitative analysis. The results of this research is the implementation of learning for carrying out research in general has been going well, the student response has generally been good, and there is an increase in the critical thinking skills of mathematics is evidenced by the gain index scores average grade from Cycle I to Cycle II for 0,40 with the interpretation of the index gain medium and the average score of the class of Cycle II to Cycle III of 0.48 with the interpretation being. The author recommends to teachers who teach mathematics can apply the method of problem solving Polya model with good planning and implementation of critical thinking skills so that students can increase the fraction of matter.
