Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara parasocial relationship dengan self-esteem pada peserta gathering GOT7 Bandung. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian korelasional. Penentuan subjek pada penelitian menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah kuesioner yang disusun oleh peneliti dan memodifikasi kuesioner yang sudah ada dari penelitian sebelumnya. Hasil penelitian ini adalah: 1) Parasocial relationship yang terjadi pada peserta gathering GOT7 Bandung berada pada tingkat sedang; 2) Self-Esteem yang dimiliki peserta gathering GOT7 Bandung berada pada tingkat sedang; 3) terdapat korelasi antara parasocial relationship dengan self-esteem pada peserta gathering GOT7 Bandung; Rekomendasi dalam penelitian ini adalah: 1) Peneliti selanjutnya diharapkan untuk lebih menggali indikator-indikator dari dimensi-dimensi variabel parasocial relationship; 2) Peneliti selanjutnya sebaiknya mencari teori self-esteem yang lebih cocok dengan parasocial relationship karena aspek virtue menunjukkan tidak adanya hubungan dengan parasocial relationship. Kata kunci: parasocial relationship, self-esteem, k-pop, gathering GOT7 Bandung This research was held to determine correlation between parasocial relationship with self-esteem among participants of GOT7 gathering Bandung. Design of this research is quantitative with correlational method. Subjects were selected by purposive sampling technique. Data were collected by questionaire which made by researcher and modification from the previous research. Results of this research are: 1) Paarticipants of GOT7 gathering has middle-level parasocial relationship; 2) Self-esteem among GOT7 gathering participants were on middle-level; 3) Parasocial relationship and self-esteem among GOT7 gathering participants has correlation. Recommendation based on this research: 1) Future researcher are expected to further explore the indicators of parasocial relationship’s dimensions; 2) Future researcher to search another self-esteem theory that more suitable for parasocial relationship, because virtue aspect has found to have no correlation with parasocial relationship.
