Abstract
Penelitian ini ingin menjawab sejumlah permasalahan yang timbul selama pembelajaran menulis karangan deskripsi berlangsung di kelas XI IPS 3 SMA Negeri 19 Bandung. Permasalahan itu: (1) bagaimana perencanaan pembelajaran menulis karangan deskripsi dengan menggunakan model experiential learning? (2) bagaimana pelaksanaan pembelajaran menulis karangan deskripsi dengan menggunakan model experiential learning? (3) bagaimana hasil pembelajaran menulis karangan deskripsi siswa dengan menggunakan model experiential learning? Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu: (1) untuk memaparkan perencanaan pembelajaran menulis karangan deskripsi dengan menggunakan model experiential learning; (2) untuk memaparkan pelaksanaan pembelajaran menulis karangan deskripsi dengan menggunakan model experiential learning; (3) untuk memaparkan hasil pembelajaran menulis karangan deskripsi siswa dengan menggunakan model experiential learning. Bertolak dari permasalahan di atas, peneliti menggunakan model experiential learning dalam upaya meningkatkan kemampuan menulis deskripsi siswa. Model experiential learning terdiri atas lima tahapan. Tahapan tersebut yaitu: (1) experience; (2) share; (3) process; (4) generalize; dan (5) apply. Kelima tahapan tersebut diterapkan dalam pembelajaran menulis deskripsi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan secara objektif permasalahan pembelajaran di kelas yang menyangkut perbaikan, peningkatan, dan pengelolaan kelas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) perencanaan pembelajaran menulis deskripsi dengan menggunakan model experiential learning telah berjalan sesuai dengan perencanaan yang telah ditetapkan; (2) pelaksanaan pembelajaran menulis deskripsi dengan menggunakan model experiential learning dilakukan sebanyak tiga siklus; dan (3) hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis deskripsi. Setelah mengikuti proses pembelajaran menulis deskripsi dengan menggunakan model experiential learning siswa kelas XI IPS 3 SMA Negeri 19 Bandung mengalami peningkatan. Pada siklus ke I nilai rata-rata siswa adalah 61,21, pada siklus ke II nilai rata-rata siswa meningkat menjadi 70,4, namun belum melebihi KKM, dan pada siklus ke III nilai rata-rata siswa meningkat dan melebihi KKM menjadi 81,98. Ini menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa sudah mampu menulis karangan deskripsi dengan baik. This research wants to answer a number of issues that appear during the course of description paragraph essay writing in class XI IPS 3 SMAN 19 Bandung. The problem was: (1) how to write description essays learning plan using experiential learning models? (2) How the implementation of learning to write essay description using the model of experiential learning? (3) How the learning outcomes of students with essay writing a description using the model of experiential learning? The purpose of this research are: (1) to describe the learning plan writing essay description using the model of experiential learning; (2) to describe the implementation of learning to write essay description using the model of experiential learning; (3) to describe the learning outcomes of students essay description writing using the teaching model of experiential learning. Based on the problems above, the researchers used a model of experiential learning in an effort to improve students' ability to write a paragraph description. Experiential learning model is made up of five stages. These stages are: (1) experience; (2) share; (3) process; (4) generalize; and (5) apply. These five stages are applied in teaching writing descriptions. The method used in this research is the Classroom Action Research (CAR). This study was to describe objectively the problem of learning in the classroom involving repair, improvement, and classroom management. The results showed that (1) the learning plan to write a description using the model of experiential learning has been going according to the plan that has been set; (2) the implementation of learning to write a description using the model of experiential learning is performed three cycles; and (3) the results showed an increase in the ability of students to write a description text. After participating in the learning process of writing a description text using the model of experiential learning, students from class of XI IPS 3 SMAN 19 Bandung showed increased ability. In the first cycle, the average score of students is 61.21, in second cycle the average score of students increased to 70.4, but not yet exceeding the minimum passing score, and on the third cycle the average of students score has increased and exceeded the minimum passing score to 81,98. It shows that most of the students are able to write a good essay description.
