Abstract

Skripsi ini berjudul “Upaya Meningkatkan Kreativitas Siswa Melalui Komik Berbasis Budaya Lokal dalam Pembelajaran IPS (Penelitian Tindakan Kelas di Kelas VII F SMPN 12 Bandung)”. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan yaitu meningkatkan kreativitas siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS melalui penggunaan komik berbasis budaya lokal. Hal ini berdasarkan pada hasil observasi awal penelitian yang menunjukan bahwa pembelajaran IPS kurang mendorong aspek aptitude dan non aptitude kreativitas siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) desain Kemmis dan McTaggart yang dilakukan dalam beberapa tahap pada setiap siklusnya, yaitu tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Sementara tenik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu observasi, penilaian, angket, wawancara dan rekaman foto. Sementara itu, instrumen penelitian menggunakan lembar observasi, catatan lapangan, lembar angket, pedoman wawancara dan rubrik penilaian. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, penggunaan media komik berbasis budaya lokal telah berhasil mendorong kreativitas siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS di Kelas VII F SMP Negeri 12 Bandung. Hal ini terlihat dari hasil pelaksanaan penelitian selama tiga siklus yang menunjukan peningkatan yang cukup signifikan pada setiap siklusnya. Pada siklus I aspek aptitude mencapai 11,24%, siklus II mencapai 72,29% dan siklus III mencapai 99,72%. Sementara aspek non aptitude siklus I mencapai 38,82%, siklus II mencapai 83,42% dan siklus III mencapai 99,17%. Kedua aspek tersebut mampu direalisasikan oleh siswa dalam bentuk produk kreatif. Keberhasilan yang dicapai tidak terlepas dari kendala-kendala yaitu kesulitan untuk merancang media komik yang memuat tujuan pembelajaran, khususnya mengintegrasikan kreativitas, materi ajar dan budaya lokal sunda dalam sebuah visualisasi gambar dalam komik. Selain itu, langkah kegiatan pembelajaran yang telah dirancang kadang tidak sesuai dengan proses pelaksanaanya. Solusi yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi kendala-kendala tersebut yaitu dengan cara melakukan diskusi yang intensif dengan guru mitra dan dosen pembimbing serta merefleksikan hasil pelaksanaan setiap siklus untuk meminimalisir kekurangan yang terjadi sebelumnya. Berdasarkan pencapaian tersebut, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa komik berbasis budaya lokal efektif dalam meningkatkan kreativitas siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS di kelas VII F SMP Negeri 12 Bandung. Hasil penelitian ini dapat direkomendasikan bagi pihak sekolah dan guru untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran yang mampu mengintegrasikan kreativitas, materi ajar dan budaya lokal sunda sehingga pembelajaran IPS menjadi lebih bermakna dan kontekstual bagi siswa. This research is entitled “Upaya Meningkatkan Kreativitas Siswa Melalui Komik Berbasis Budaya Lokal dalam Pembelajaran IPS (Penelitian Tindakan Kelas di Kelas VII F SMPN 12 Bandung)”. This research aims at increasing students’ creativities in Social Studies by using comic which is based on local culture. According to the first observation result, Social Studies did not really motivate aptitude and non aptitude aspect of students’ creativities. Social Studies have been still emphasizing student in memorizing and focusing on textbook. Additionally, teacher dominated lesson in class too much. Therefore, students’ opportunity to deliver their opinion is limited. This research applied Kemmis and McTaggart’s classroom action research which contains several steps in each cycle namely, planning, action, observation and reflection. In collecting the data, it was used observation, assessment, questionnaire, interview and picture record. Additionally, research instrument that was used was observation sheet, note taking, questionnaire sheet, interview guidance and assessment rubric. According to the result, using comic based on local culture has been successful in motivating students’ creativity in Social Studies in VII F SMP Negeri 12 Bandung. It can be seen from the result of research action within three cycles that showed significance improvement in each cycle. Students can think from several points of view differently and can express their creative ideas as a solution. At cycle I, aptitude aspect reached 11,24%, cycle II reached 72,29% and cycle III reached 99,72%. Meanwhile, non aptitude aspect in cycle I reached 38,82%, cycle II reached 83,42% and cycle III reached 99,17%. Both of these aspects can be applied by students in creative product. The success that was achieved, of course, faced several problems, for example, difficulty in designing comic that contained lesson purpose. In addition, steps of lesson activity that had already been made were not suitable with the learning process. To solve these problems, it was done several things namely doing intensive discussion with the teacher partner and supervisor then reflecting the result of each cycle to minimize the drawbacks at the last. According to that achievement, it can be concluded that comic which is based in local culture was effective in improving students’ creativities in Social Studies in VII F SMP Negeri 12 Bandung. The result of this research can be recommended for teachers to develop lesson media that can integrate creativity, lesson material and Sundanese local culture lesson material in order to make Social Studies more having meaning and contextual for students.
