Abstract
Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi representasi sebuah entitas dalam pemberitaan surat kabar. Secara khusus, penelitian ini mengkaji representasi Ratu Atut Chosiyah (RAC) dalam wacana korupsi Alkes dan suap Pilkada Lebak di portal berita Suara Karya (SK) dan Merdeka serta ideologi yang melandasinya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan dengan cara memilih berita yang bertopik sama dan muncul pada kedua media tersebut. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan teori Analisis Wacana Kritis (AWK) yang bertumpu kepada analisis transitivitas dalam Linguistik Fungsional Sistemik (LFS) yang dikembangkan oleh Halliday (2004). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media SK memiliki kecenderungan untuk merepresentasikan RAC dalam imaji yang positif sedangkan media Merdeka cenderung lebih negatif. Selanjutnya, ditemukan bahwa media SK tampaknya memegang sistem kepercayaan yang telah dimiliki oleh kelompok masyarakat sejak era prareformasi yang menggunakan instrumen-instrumen sosial untuk kepentingan politik. Sebaliknya, sistem kepercayaan yang dipegang oleh media Merdeka cenderung dekat dengan semangat reformasi yang diusung oleh orang-orang dari generasi yang melahirkan reformasi. This study explores the representation of an entity on the news of media. Specifically, this study examines the representation of Ratu Atut Chosiyah (RAC) on the news of medical devices corruption and Election tickle case of Lebak district in news Portal "Suara Karya " and " Merdeka". The purpose of this study is to find out and describe media's view of Suara Karya (SK) and Merdeka which also the subject of this research. In the other hand, this study tries to give a view about ideology in those media. This study employs descriptive qualitative method. Data was collected with selecting the same topic news and appear in those media. To analyse the data, this study used Critical Discourse Analyses (CDA) approach focus on transitivity analysis in Linguistic Functional Systemic (LFS) which conducted by Halliday (2004). The findings of this study are that SK tended to present RAC in positive image better than Merdeka which presented in the negative way, and even in the several analyses showed that Merdeka judged RAC. Second, SK held believe system which already owned by societal group since pre-reformation era that used social instrumentals for political interest. In the contrary, believe system that held by Merdeka is closer with reformation spirit which announced by that generation.
