    Abstract

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis keterampilan proses sains dan penguasaan konsep siswa pada materi sistem pencernaan manusia melalui pembelajaran berbasis konteks metode diskusi dan metode praktikum. Metode penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu dengan rancangan penelitian the matching-only pretest-postest control group design. Sampel penelitan adalah siswa kelas VIII di salah satu SMP kota Tangerang Selatan, Banten pada tahun 2013. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara random sampling. Data hasil penelitian berupa data hasil tes keterampilan proses sains, tes penguasaan konsep, lembar observasi pelaksanaan keterampilan proses sains siswa, lembar observasi pelaksanaan kegiatan belajar guru dan siswa, serta angket tanggapan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan keterampilan proses sains dan peningkatan penguasaan konsep siswa setelah mengikuti pembelajaran dengan metode diskusi (kelas eksperimen 1) dan metode praktikum (kelas eksperimen 2). Peningkatan ketermpilan proses sains untuk kelas eksperimen 1 dengan rata-rata N_gain sebesar 0,64 dengan kategori sedang, sedangkan untuk kelas eksperimen 2 sebesar 0,53 dengan kategori sedang. Terdapat perbedaan signifikan pada keterampilan proses sains siswa antara kelas eksperimen 1 dengan kelas eksperimen 2. Peningkatan penguasaan konsep siswa pada kelas eksperimen 1 sebesar 0,71 dengan kategori tinggi, dan pada kelas eksperimen 2sebesar 0,43 dengan kategori sedang. Tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada penguasaan konsep siswa antara kelas eksperimen 1 dengan kelas eksperimen 2. Pembelajaran berbasis konteks dengan metode diskusi pada materi sistem pencernaan manusia lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains dan penguasaan konsep. This research aim to analyze the science process skills and mastery of concepts students on material of human digestive system through study base on the context of method of discussion and method of practice. This research method is a quasi-experimental research design with the matching-only cluster sampling pretest-posttest control group design. Research sample is a class VIII student in one of the junior South Tangerang city, Banten in 2013. Sampling was done by random sampling.The research data is data science process skills test results, test mastery of concepts, observation sheet implementation process skills of science students, observation sheets learning activities of teachers and students, as well as students' questionnaire responses. The results showed an increase in science process skills and the improvement of students' mastery of concepts after participating in learning with method of discussion (experimental 1 class) and method of praktice (class(experimental 2). Improved science process skillsexperiments 1 to the class with an average of 0.64 N_gain with moderate category, while the (experimental 2 class of 0.53 with the category moderate. There is a significant difference in the science process skills of students between classes experiment 1 with the (experimental 2 class. Increased mastery of concepts for students in the experimental 1class with a 0.71 high category, and the (experimental 2 class is 0.43 with a medium category. There no significant differences between the students' mastery of concepts in class experiments1 with the (experimental 2 class. With method of discussion in the human digestive system material is more effective in improving science process skills and mastery of concepts.
