    Abstract

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh intervensi media permainan Petak Numerasi terhadap kemampuan numerasi siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan numerasi siswa yang membutuhkan media konkret sebagai perancah kognitif di luar jam pembelajaran formal. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis metode Pre-Experimental Design tipe One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 22 orang siswa kelas V di salah satu Sekolah Dasar Negeri di Kecamatan Garut Kota, Kabupaten Garut, Jawa Barat, yang ditentukan melalui teknik sampling jenuh. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa tes kemampuan numerasi yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya secara empiris. Analisis data menggunakan uji statistik non-parametrik Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test mengingat ukuran sampel kecil. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rata-rata pretest sebesar 71.59 dan posttest sebesar 82.95 dengan skor N-Gain sebesar 0.3550 dalam kategori rendah. Meskipun rendah, hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan nilai Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) 0.001 < 0.05, yang berarti terdapat perbedaan signifikan pada kemampuan numerasi siswa sebelum dan setelah diberikan intervensi. Kesimpulannya, media Petak Numerasi berpengaruh positif terhadap perolehan dan peningkatan kemampuan numerasi siswa kelas V SD. This study aims to empirically examine the effect of the Petak Numerasi game-based media intervention on the numeracy skills of fifth-grade elementary school students. This research was motivated by the observed low numeracy proficiency among students, necessitating the provision of concrete media as cognitive scaffolding outside of formal instructional hours. This study employed a quantitative method approach utilizing a Pre-Experimental Design, specifically the One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample consisted of 22 fifth-grade students from a public elementary school in Garut Kota District, Garut Regency, West Java, Indonesia, selected via a saturated sampling technique. Data collection was conducted using a numeracy proficiency test, which had been empirically tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was performed using the non-parametric Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, considering the small sample size. The result indicated an increase in the mean score from 71.59 (Pretest) to 82.95 (posttest), with an N-Gain score of 0.3550, categorized as low. Despite the low gain category, the hypothesis test yielded an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.001 < 0.05, indicating a statistically significant difference in students’ numeracy skills before and after the intervention. In conclusion, the Petak Numerasi media has a positive influence on the acquisition and improvement of numeracy skills among fifth-grade elementary school students.
