Abstract

Minyak mentah pada sumur minyak bumi mengandung zat-zat yang sangat korosif terhadap pipa saluran sumur produksi, antara lain adalah asam-asam organik, garam klorida dan sulfat, serta CO2 dengan pH sekitar 3-5. Korosi terjadi pada permukaan bagian dalam dari pipa sumur minyak bumi dapat dikendalikan dengan cara menambahkan inhibitor korosi. Saat ini dikembangkan dari golongan senyawa organik, terutama dari bahan alam, sebab mudah didapat, murah, dan ramah lingkungan. Pada penelitian ini yang dijadikan alternatif inhibitor korosi adalah ekstrak cabe jawa (piper retrofractum) dalam media NaCl 1% jenuh CO2 dengan kendali pH buffer asetat sesuai kondisi sumur minyak bumi. Untuk mengetahui potensi ekstrak cabe jawa sebagai inhibitor korosi digunakan metode impedansi (EIS, Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy) dan metode polarisasi (Tafel plot). Berdasarkan skrining fitokimia, ekstrak cabe jawa mengandung alkaloid dan flavonoid, serta gugus fungsi hidroksi, karbonil, dan amida. Berdasarkan hasil pengukuran polarisasi (Tafel) menunjukkan senyawa inhibitor dalam cabe jawa berperan sebagai inhibitor campuran. Hasil uji EIS, efisiensi inhibisi meningkat sesuai kenaikan konsentrasi mencapai 56,84 % pada suhu 35°C. Interaksi yang terjadi antara permukaan logam dengan molekul inhibitor adalah adsorpsi fisik (fisisorpsi) dengan ΔGads sebesar -11,21 kj/mol mengikuti isoterm adsorpsi Langmuir. Crude oil in petroleum wells contain very corrosive substance, corroding the pipe lines of the mining production wells, namely organic acids, chloride and sulfate salts, and CO2 with a pH of about 3-5. Corrosion occurs on the inner surface of the pipe can be controlled by adding a corrosion inhibitor. There are currently developed from organic compounds, because easily available, inexpensive, and environmentally friendly. In this study the corrosion inhibitor is used as an alternative of Java chili extract (Piper Retrofractum) in medium NaCl 1 % with asetat buffer CO2 saturated. To determine the potential of Java chili extracts as corrosion inhibitors used method of impedance (EIS, Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy) and methods of polarization (Tafel plot). Java chili extract contains alkaloids and flavonoids, as well as hydroxyl, carbonyl, and amide. The results of polarization (Tafel) shows the inhibitor compounds Java chili act as mixture inhibitors. The result of EIS, the corresponding increase in the efficiency of inhibition increased concentration reached 56.84 % at a temperature of 35°C. The interaction that occurs between the metal surface with an inhibitor molecule is physic adsorption with ΔGads of -11.21 kJ/mol, and the adsorption followed the Langmuir adsorption isotherm.
