    Abstract

    Indonesia menjadi salah satu ladang pertumbuhan dan persebaran bambu yang luas, termasuk banyaknya industri yang memanfaatkan bambu sebagai bahan utama produksi. Seperti pemanfaatan bambu tali dalam kebutuhan produksi kerajinan dan produk lain dalam skala kecil maupun industri. Namun pemanfaatannya hanya terfokus pada bambu tali saja, dan tidak adanya penanganan secara langsung terhadap bambu tali yang telah menjadi limbah, yang biasanya dibuang ataupun dibakar setiap harinya. Eksplorasi ini berfokus pada limbah ampas halus, ampas kasar, dan juga iratan bambu yang merupakan limbah hasil produksi. Pada tahapannya, eksperimen perekat dilakukan pada ketiga jenis limbah bambu tali, hal ini didasari dengan struktur limbah bambu tali yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai material alternatif dalam rekomendasi produk lanjutan. Pada tahapan awal setelah observasi, perekat yang dipilih adalah lem kayu putih, air, lem kayu putih dengan air, putih telur, dan putih telur dengan air pada setiap material limbah bambu tali. Pada tahap selanjutnya, dilakukan beberapa penerapan seperti pengeringan secara langsung maupun melalui tahap pembekuan terlebih dahulu terhadap spesimen. Hasil akhir dari eksperimen ini adalah penemuan terhadap eksplorasi perekat pada ketiga limbah bambu tali, dengan hasil akhir rekomendasi material alternatif terhadap produk berdasarkan karakteristik spesimen akhir pada eksperimen. Indonesia is one of the regions with extensive bamboo growth and distribution, supported by numerous industries that utilize bamboo as a primary production material, particularly bamboo tali, which is commonly used in handicraft production and various products at both small-scale and industrial levels; however, its utilization remains focused on the main material, while the waste generated from bamboo tali production is often unmanaged and routinely discarded or burned. This exploration focuses on fine residue, coarse residue, and bamboo shavings as by products of the production process, with adhesive experiments conducted on these three types of bamboo tali waste based on their structural potential as alternative materials for future product recommendations. In the initial stage, the selected adhesives included white wood glue, water, a mixture of white wood glue and water, egg white, and a mixture of egg white and water, which were applied to each waste material, followed by further treatments such as direct drying and a freezing process prior to drying. The final outcome of this experiment is the identification of adhesive performance across the three types of bamboo tali waste, resulting in alternative material recommendations based on the final characteristics of the experimental specimens.
