Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh latihan Boomerang Run dan Hexagon Drill terhadap peningkatan footwork atlet bulutangkis serta membandingkan efektivitas kedua metode tersebut. Footwork merupakan komponen penting dalam permainan bulutangkis karena menentukan kecepatan, keseimbangan, dan efektivitas pergerakan atlet di lapangan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest control group design. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 30 atlet UKM Bulutangkis UPI Kampus Sumedang yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok A yang diberikan perlakuan latihan Boomerang Run dan kelompok B yang diberikan perlakuan latihan Hexagon Drill. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama 14 kali pertemuan dalam waktu kurang lebih dua bulan. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengukur footwork adalah tes footwork bulutangkis menurut Tohar. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa baik latihan Boomerang Run maupun Hexagon Drill memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan kemampuan footwork atlet. Namun, hasil uji perbedaan menunjukkan bahwa latihan Boomerang Run lebih efektif secara signifikan dibandingkan dengan latihan Hexagon Drill dalam meningkatkan kemampuan footwork atlet bulutangkis. Dengan demikian, latihan Boomerang Run direkomendasikan sebagai metode latihan yang lebih optimal untuk meningkatkan kelincahan dan efektivitas gerakan atlet di lapangan. This study aims to determine the effect of Boomerang Run and Hexagon Drill training on improving badminton athletes' footwork and to compare the effectiveness of the two training methods. Footwork is a crucial component in badminton performance as it influences speed, balance, and movement efficiency on the court. The research method used was a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample consisted of 30 athletes from the Badminton Student Activity Unit (UKM Bulutangkis) at UPI Sumedang Campus, divided into two groups: Group A received Boomerang Run training and Group B received Hexagon Drill training. The research was conducted over 14 sessions within approximately two months. The instrument used to measure footwork performance was the badminton footwork test according to Tohar. The results of data analysis indicated that both Boomerang Run and Hexagon Drill training had a positive effect on improving athletes' footwork. However, comparative analysis showed that Boomerang Run training was significantly more effective than Hexagon Drill in enhancing the footwork performance of badminton athletes. Therefore, Boomerang Run training is recommended as a more optimal method for improving agility and movement efficiency on the badminton court.
