Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis gaya belajar anak berkebutuhan khusus, khususnya anak tunalaras, di kelas III salah satu Sekolah Dasar Negeri di Kabupaten Ciamis. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya pendidikan khusus bagi anak berkebutuhan khusus. Anak tunalaras merupakan anak dengan hambatan emosi dan perilaku yang mempengaruhi proses pembelajaran dan interaksi sosialnya. Pada kenyataannya pendidikan bagi anak berkebutuhan khusus masih disamakan dengan anak pada umumnya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan angket deteksi gaya belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa anak tunalaras memiliki kecenderungan gaya belajar kinestetik dan visual, dengan karakteristik seperti kesulitan fokus dalam kegiatan duduk diam, kebutuhan belajar melalui gerakan, dan pendekatan langsung. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran masih menghadapi hambatan, seperti kurangnya penyesuaian metode pembelajaran dengan kebutuhan individu anak. Faktor pendukung pembelajaran meliputi keterlibatan guru dan pemahaman terhadap karakteristik anak, sedangkan faktor penghambatnya meliputi keterbatasan fasilitas dan kurikulum yang belum fleksibel. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan perlunya pendekatan pembelajaran yang disesuaikan dengan gaya belajar anak tunalaras guna meningkatkan efektivitas belajar dan perkembangan sosial-emosional mereka. This study aims to analyze the learning styles of children with special needs, especially children with emotional disabilities, in grade III of a Public Elementary School in Ciamis Regency. This study is motivated by the importance of special education for children with special needs. Children with emotional disabilities are children with emotional and behavioral disabilities that affect their learning process and social interactions. In reality, education for children with special needs is still the same as children in general. The research method used in this study is qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, documentation, and learning style detection questionnaires. The results of the study indicate that children with emotional disabilities have a tendency towards kinesthetic and visual learning styles, with characteristics such as difficulty focusing on sitting still, the need to learn through movement, and a direct approach. The implementation of learning still faces obstacles, such as the lack of adjustment of learning methods to the needs of individual children. Supporting factors for learning include teacher involvement and understanding of children's characteristics, while inhibiting factors include limited facilities and an inflexible curriculum. This study recommends the need for a learning approach that is adapted to the learning styles of children with emotional disabilities in order to improve the effectiveness of their learning and social-emotional development.
