Abstract

Penelitian ini berfokus pada resistensi perempuan subaltern terhadap hegemoni maskulin dalam komunitas Motor Club Obeng Kembang Bandung. Latar belakang penelitian berangkat dari fenomena keterlibatan perempuan dalam ruang-ruang yang didominasi nilai maskulin, di mana mereka seringkali menghadapi marginalisasi struktural maupun simbolik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengalaman perempuan dalam komunitas motor melalui perspektif subaltern, mengkaji strategi negosiasi identitas yang mereka lakukan, serta menjelaskan terbentuknya solidaritas gender di tengah dominasi patriarki. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode fenomenologi. Data diperoleh melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam, dan studi dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teori Subaltern Gayatri Spivak, hegemoni maskulinitas R.W. Connell, dan solidaritas Bell Hooks. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perempuan dalam komunitas menghadapi keterbatasan akses terhadap pengambilan keputusan, stereotip gender, serta pembatasan ekspresi identitas. Namun, mereka mengembangkan strategi resistensi melalui adaptasi simbolik, partisipasi aktif dalam kegiatan komunitas, serta pembentukan ruang solidaritas yang memberi dukungan emosional dan sosial. Simpulan penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa suara subaltern tidak sepenuhnya bisu, melainkan dapat dimunculkan melalui agensi kultural dan solidaritas kolektif yang dibangun perempuan dalam ruang maskulin. This study focuses on the resistance of subaltern women against masculine hegemony within the Obeng Kembang Motor Club in Bandung. The research is motivated by the phenomenon of women’s involvement in male-dominated spaces, where they often face structural and symbolic marginalization. The purpose of this study is to analyze women’s experiences in the motor club through the subaltern perspective, to examine their strategies of identity negotiation, and to explain the formation of gender solidarity amid patriarchal dominance. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using Gayatri Spivak’s Subaltern theory, R.W. Connell’s concept of hegemonic masculinity, and Bell Hooks’ solidarity theory. The findings reveal that women in the community encounter limited access to decision-making, gender stereotypes, and restrictions on identity expression. However, they develop resistance strategies through symbolic adaptation, active participation in community activities, and the creation of solidarity spaces that provide emotional and social support. This study concludes that the voices of the subaltern are not entirely silenced, as they can be articulated through cultural agency and collective solidarity constructed by women in masculine spaces.
