Abstract

Film tersebut dipilih sebagai inspirasi karena mampu merepresentasikan narasi perjalanan Alice dalam memasuki dunia Wonderland dalam bentuk scene secara simbolik. Dalam film tersebut terdapat tema utama yaitu tranformasi perubahan ukuran Alice in Wonderland, proses adaptasi dengan dunia yang terus berubah ubah dan pencarian jati diri. Elemen-elemen visual tersebut dapat menjadi sumber ide dalam pengembangan motif sulam yang mengandung nilai artistik dan simbolik. Tujuan penciptaan ini adalah untuk memperoleh motif yang bersumber dari film Alice in Wonderland dan menerapkannya pada busana chic style. Metode penciptaan karya mengacu pada metode penciptaan S.P. Gustami yang meliputi tiga tahap. Tahap eksplorasi dilakukan melalui pengumpulan data berupa wawancara, observasi, studi pustaka, dan survei. Tahap perancangan mencakup desain motif, busana, warna, pola repetisi, hingga proses perwujudan karya. Penelitian menghasilkan empat busana bergaya chic style yang terdiri dari berbagai atasan dan bawahan yang praktis untuk di mix and max. Keseluruhan motif berjumlah lima dengan fungsi utama merepresentasikan simbolik sekaligus penggambaran narasi dari kisah Alice memasuki dunia Wonderland. Elemen yang diangkat meliputi karakter “Alice” sebagai tokoh utama yang menjelajah Wonderland, ramuan dan kue “eat me” serta “drink me” yang membuka gerbang ke dunia fantasi, serta pesta teh yang menjadi bagian penting dari pengalaman Alice hingga akhirnya tiba di “Wonderland” sebagai latar cerita. Pemilihan teknik sulam menjadi pilihan karena memiliki estetika, bermacam tekstur, dan memberikan kesan busana yang dipersonalisasi. Selain itu, terdapat minimnya dokumentasi akademis riset yang menghubungkan film, narasi, simbolisme, dan tekstil menjadi celah yang dapat dikembangkan. Penciptaan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi kontribusi dan menambah referensi di bidang seni rupa, khususnya dalam pengembangan desain motif dan teknik sulam. The film was chosen as inspiration because it symbolically represents Alice's journey into Wonderland. The main themes of the film are Alice's transformation in Wonderland, her process of adapting to a constantly changing world, and her search for identity. These visual elements can be a source of ideas for developing embroidery motifs with artistic and symbolic value. The purpose of this creation is to obtain motifs sourced from the film Alice in Wonderland and apply them to chic style clothing. The method of creation refers to S.P. Gustami's method, which consists of three stages. The exploration stage was carried out through data collection in the form of interviews, observations, literature studies, and surveys. The design stage includes motif design, clothing, colors, repetition patterns, and the process of realizing the work. The research produced four chic style outfits consisting of various tops and bottoms that are practical for mixing and matching. There are five motifs in total, with the main function of representing the symbolism and narrative of Alice's story entering Wonderland. The elements featured include the character “Alice” as the main character who explores Wonderland, the “eat me” and “drink me” potions and cakes that open the gate to the fantasy world, and the tea party that is an important part of Alice's experience until she finally arrives in “Wonderland” as the setting for the story. Embroidery was chosen as the technique because of its aesthetics, variety of textures, and the impression it gives of personalized clothing. In addition, there is a lack of academic research documentation linking film, narrative, symbolism, and textiles, which is a gap that can be developed. This creation is expected to contribute to and add to references in the field of fine arts, particularly in the development of motif design and embroidery techniques.
