    Abstract

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji kesadaran hukum siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) di Kota Bandung terhadap kasus cyberbullying dalam konteks era digital. Fenomena cyberbullying yang marak di kalangan pelajar menjadi ancaman nyata yang tidak hanya berdampak pada kondisi psikologis korban, tetapi juga berkaitan erat dengan aspek yuridis yang sering kali belum dipahami oleh siswa sebagai pelaku maupun korban. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus, menggabungkan teknik wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa telah mengenali bentuk-bentuk cyberbullying, namun belum memiliki pemahaman yang memadai tentang konsekuensi hukumnya. Strategi sekolah dalam meningkatkan kesadaran hukum dilakukan melalui pembelajaran PPKn, layanan Bimbingan Konseling, seminar hukum, serta penyusunan tata tertib yang mengatur perilaku digital. Meski demikian, strategi yang diterapkan masih bersifat umum dan belum menyentuh akar persoalan secara komprehensif. Kesadaran siswa masih terbatas pada aspek pengetahuan normatif dan belum berkembang menjadi sikap dan perilaku hukum yang konsisten. Faktor-faktor penyebab cyberbullying dikategorikan ke dalam faktor internal (emosi yang tidak terkontrol, kurangnya pemahaman hukum) dan faktor eksternal (pengaruh lingkungan pertemanan, kurangnya pengawasan orang tua, serta paparan konten media sosial yang tidak tersaring). Selain itu, mayoritas siswa belum memahami dasar hukum yang mengatur tindakan cyberbullying, seperti Undang-Undang ITE, KUHP, dan Undang-Undang Perlindungan Anak. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya penguatan edukasi hukum digital secara sistematis dan kolaboratif antara sekolah, orang tua, dan lembaga hukum demi menciptakan budaya digital yang sehat dan sadar hukum di kalangan pelajar. This research aims to examine the legal awareness of junior high school (SMP) students in Bandung City regarding cyberbullying cases in the context of the digital era. The widespread phenomenon of cyberbullying among students poses a real threat, not only impacting the psychological well-being of victims but also closely related to legal aspects that are often not well understood by students, both as perpetrators and victims. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study method, combining interviews, observations, and document analysis. The results show that most students can recognize the forms of cyberbullying but still lack sufficient understanding of its legal consequences. School strategies to raise legal awareness are implemented through Civics Education (PPKn), Counseling Services, legal seminars, and the formulation of school rules governing digital behavior. However, these strategies remain general and have yet to comprehensively address the root of the problem. Students' awareness is still limited to normative knowledge and has not yet developed into consistent legal attitudes and behaviors. The causes of cyberbullying are categorized into internal factors (uncontrolled emotions, lack of legal understanding) and external factors (peer influence, lack of parental supervision, and unfiltered exposure to social media content). Additionally, most students are unaware of the legal basis regulating cyberbullying, such as the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (ITE Law), the Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP), and the Child Protection Law. This study highlights the importance of strengthening digital legal education systematically and collaboratively between schools, parents, and legal institutions to foster a healthy and law-conscious digital culture among students.
