Abstract

Busana tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai penutup dan pelindung tubuh, namun juga berfungsi sebagai komunikasi nonverbal suatu individu atau komunitas melalui simbol-simbol pada gaya berbusana. Konsep femininitas yang diusung oleh komunitas di Jepang menjadi salah satu yang memiliki karakteristik dalam berbusana. Busana Sweet Lolita merupakan representasi dari femininitas di Jepnag. Busana ini lahir di Jepang pada 1990-an dan terinspirasi dari gaya busana era Victoria dan Rococo yang merepresentasikan simbol-simbol femininitas. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis simbol femininitas pada busana Sweet Lolita dengan kajian semiotika Peirce. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dan menggunakan kajian semiotika teori Peirce yaitu qualisign, sinsign, legisign, icon, index, symbol, rheme, decisign, dan argument. Brand Angelic Pretty yang konsisten menampilkan simbol femininitas yang menjadi sampel penelitian terfokus pada 12 produk dari Spring Collection 2025. Berdasarkan hasil analisis karakteristik visual menunjukkan bahwa busana Sweet Lolita brand Angelic Pretty Spring Collection 2025 memiliki model busana gaun one piece atau two pieces (jumper dress dan blus) dengan dekoratif (ruffle atau frill, renda, pita), warna cerah, aksesoris (bonnet, headbow, headdress, hand cuff, hand glove), dan sepatu mary jane yang merepresentasikan femininitas. Hasil analisis dengan teori Peirce menunjukkan busana Sweet Lolita menampilkan femininitas yang manis, lucu, dan anggun sebagai qualisign yang menghasilkan rheme dan argument. Busana Sweet Lolita yang terinspirasi dari gaun eropa namun tetap sesuai pada norma di Jepang sebagai sinsign, legisign dan decisign. Setiap sumber ide dan detail pada busana Sweet Lolita menjadi icon, index dan symbol. Fashion not only functions as a covering and protection for the body, but also functions as a non-verbal communication of an individual or community through symbols in fashion styles. The concept of femininity carried by the community in Japan is one that has identical characteristics in fashion. Sweet Lolita fashion is a representation of femininity in Japan. This fashion was born in Japan in the 1990s and was inspired by the Victorian and Rococo era fashion styles that represent symbols of femininity. The purpose of this study is to analyze the symbols of femininity in Sweet Lolita fashion using Peirce's semiotics study. The study was conducted with a descriptive qualitative approach and used Peirce's semiotic theory study, namely qualisign, sinsign, legisign, icon, index, symbol, rheme, decisign, and argument. The Angelic Pretty brand consistently displays symbols of femininity which are the research samples focused on 12 products from the Spring Collection 2025. Based on the results of the visual characteristics analysis, it shows that the Sweet Lolita fashion brand Angelic Pretty Spring Collection 2025 has a one-piece or two-piece dress model (jumper dress and blouse) with decorative (ruffle or frill, lace, ribbon), bright colors, accessories (bonnet, headbow, headdress, hand cuff, hand glove), and mary jane shoes that represent femininity. The results of the analysis with Peirce's theory show that Sweet Lolita fashion displays sweet, cute, and elegant femininity as a qualisign that produces rheme and argument. Sweet Lolita fashion is inspired by European dresses but still in accordance with the norms in Japan as sinsign, legisign and decisign. Every source of ideas and details in Sweet Lolita fashion becomes an icon, index and symbol.
