Abstract

Masyarakat adat merupakan entitas sosial yang memegang teguh sistem nilai, norma, dan tradisi sebagai pedoman hidup bersama. Salah satu bentuk kearifan lokal yang masih lestari di Indonesia adalah adat Kaluar Ti Kampung Saatos Nikah di Kampung Pulo, Garut, Jawa Barat. Adat ini mewajibkan setiap warga yang telah menikah untuk meninggalkan rumah adat dan tinggal di luar lingkungan kampung paling lambat dua minggu setelah pernikahan. Tradisi ini tidak sekadar merupakan praktik budaya, tetapi sarat akan makna filosofis dan nilai kewargaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji nilai-nilai filosofis yang terkandung dalam adat tersebut serta relevansinya dalam memperkuat civics identity masyarakat Kampung Pulo. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah etnografi dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Studi ini menemukan bahwa adat Kaluar Ti Kampung Saatos Nikah di Kampung Pulo dipertahankan karena dianggap sakral dan bagian dari ajaran leluhur, terutama Arif Muhammad. Pembatasan jumlah rumah melambangkan keteraturan dan menjaga harmoni sosial serta spiritual. Adat ini mencerminkan prinsip-prinsip tanggung jawab sosial, pelestarian budaya, dan komitmen terhadap identitas kolektif. Masyarakat berharap adat ini tetap lestari secara adaptif, dengan melibatkan generasi muda dan memanfaatkan teknologi, serta mendapat dukungan konkret dari pemerintah sebagai bagian dari civics identity. Di tengah arus modernisasi, keberlanjutan tradisi ini menjadi tantangan sekaligus peluang untuk mempertegas identitas kewarganegaraan berbasis kearifan lokal. Oleh karena itu, pemahaman terhadap nilai filosofis dalam kearifan lokal menjadi penting untuk menjaga integritas budaya dan memperkuat karakter kebangsaan di masyarakat multikultural seperti Indonesia. Indigenous communities are social entities that firmly uphold a system of values, norms, and traditions as guidelines for living together. One form of local wisdom that is still preserved in Indonesia is the Kaluar Ti Kampung Saatos Nikah custom in Kampung Pulo, Garut, West Java. This custom requires every married resident to leave their traditional house and live outside the village environment no later than two weeks after the wedding. This tradition is not merely a cultural practice, but is also rich in philosophical meaning and civic values. This study aims to examine the philosophical values contained in this custom and its relevance in strengthening the civic identity of the Kampung Pulo community. The research method used is ethnography with a qualitative approach. This study found that the Kaluar Ti Kampung Saatos Nikah custom in Kampung Pulo is maintained because it is considered sacred and part of the teachings of ancestors, especially Arif Muhammad. The limitation on the number of houses symbolizes order and maintains social and spiritual harmony. This custom reflects the principles of social responsibility, cultural preservation, and a commitment to collective identity. The community hopes that this custom will remain sustainable adaptively, by involving the younger generation and utilizing technology, and receiving concrete support from the government as part of its civic identity. Amidst the tide of modernization, the sustainability of this tradition presents both a challenge and an opportunity to strengthen civic identity based on local wisdom. Therefore, understanding the philosophical values within local wisdom is crucial for maintaining cultural integrity and strengthening national character in a multicultural society like Indonesia.
