Abstract
Penelitian ini membahas pengelolaan arsip dan kompetensi pegawai dalam bidang kearsipan di Bank BJB Cabang Palabuhan Ratu. Permasalahan ini penting karena pengelolaan arsip yang baik memerlukan sumber daya manusia yang kompeten, baik secara teknis maupun fungsional. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan sistem pengelolaan arsip, karakteristik dan kompetensi pegawai, serta kendala dan strategi pengembangan kompetensi dalam pengelolaan arsip. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Informan terdiri dari arsiparis, teller, Customer Service, Analys Officer, kepala cabang, dan bagian operasional. Data ini dikumpulkan melalui proses observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Setelah itu, data dianalisis melalui langkah-langkah dimulai dari pengumpulan data, merangkum data, menyajikan data, serta membuat kesimpulan dan memverifikasi hasil serta penelitian ini menggunakan analisis SWOT Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan arsip telah berjalan cukup baik, namun masih ditemukan keterbatasan dalam hal kompetensi pegawai, terutama karena latar belakang pendidikan yang tidak sesuai dan kurangnya pelatihan. Strategi yang dilakukan diarahkan pada peningkatan pelatihan, pendampingan teknis, serta membangun kesadaran pegawai terhadap pentingnya pengelolaan arsip yang tertib dan sesuai prosedur. This study discusses records management and employee competencies in archival work at Bank BJB Palabuhan Ratu Branch. This issue is crucial because effective records management requires competent human resources, both technically and functionally. The purpose of this study is to describe the records management system, employee characteristics and competencies, as well as the challenges and strategies for developing competencies in archival management. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method. Informants consist of the records officer, tellers, Customer Service staff, credit analysts, branch head, and operations department. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The data were then analyzed through stages including data collection, data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and result verification. This study also applies SWOT analysis. The results show that records management has been running quite well, although there are still limitations in employee competence, especially due to educational backgrounds that are not aligned with archival work and a lack of specific training. The strategies carried out are focused on increasing training, providing technical assistance, and building employee awareness of the importance of orderly and proper records management.
