Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pengetahuan konsep bilangan pada siswa tunarungu, khususnya dalam mengenal lambang bilangan, memahami kuantitas, serta menyusun dan mengurutkan bilangan. Hambatan komunikasi dan keterbatasan bahasa menyebabkan siswa tunarungu kesulitan memahami konsep abstrak, sehingga diperlukan media pembelajaran yang konkret, visual, dan sistematis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media kantong bilangan melalui model pembelajaran langsung terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan konsep bilangan 1–20 bagi siswa tunarungu. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain one group pretest-posttest. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 5 siswa tunarungu kelas I SDLB di SLBN Cicendo. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes pengetahuan konsep bilangan yang diberikan sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji Wilcoxon. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada pengetahuan konsep bilangan siswa. Rata-rata skor pretest sebesar 23,2 meningkat menjadi 40,2 pada posttest dengan selisih 17 poin. Hasil uji Wilcoxon menghasilkan nilai signifikansi 0,041 (< 0,05), sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa media kantong bilangan melalui model pembelajaran langsung berpengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan konsep bilangan 1–20 bagi siswa tunarungu. Implikasi penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa penggunaan media konkret berbasis visual yang dipadukan dengan model pembelajaran langsung efektif membantu siswa tunarungu dalam pengetahuan konsep matematika dasar. This research is motivated by the low conceptual knowledge of numbers in deaf students, especially in recognizing number symbols, understanding quantity, and arranging and sequencing numbers. Communication barriers and language limitations cause deaf students to have difficulty understanding abstract concepts, so concrete, visual, and systematic learning media are needed. This study aims to determine the effect of using number pockets media through a direct learning model on improving conceptual knowledge of numbers 1–20 for deaf students. The method used is a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects consisted of 5 deaf students in grade I SDLB at SLBN Cicendo. Data were collected through a conceptual knowledge test given before and after treatment, then analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The results showed a significant increase in students' conceptual knowledge of numbers. The average pretest score of 23.2 increased to 40.2 in the posttest with a difference of 17 points. The Wilcoxon test results produced a significance value of 0.041 (<0.05), so it can be concluded that the number bag media through the direct learning model has a significant effect on increasing the knowledge of the number concept 1–20 for deaf students. The implications of this study confirm that the use of visual-based concrete media combined with the direct learning model is effective in helping deaf students in their knowledge of basic mathematical concepts.
