Abstract
The development of digital technology has shifted the fundamental meaning of cinema, as discussed by Paolo Cherchi Usai in the concept The Death of Cinema, which marks the loss of physical relation, existential trace, and material experience of the film medium. Arising from concerns over this phenomenon, the experimental film She Taking Care of Me was created as a form of resistance against the death of cinema through analog practices using celluloid film photogrphy 35mm and motion picture 16mm. The creation process involved laboratory approaches and chemical experimentation, framing the body and memory as two equally fragile yet meaningful entities. This film employs the concepts of authorship and layered image representation to present a poetic and contemplative visual narrative. The analog approach serves not only as an aesthetic method but also as a means of meaning-making through the intersection between the body and film material. Through visual and experimental exploration, this film reasserts the importance of cinema as a reflective space that can continually be reinterpreted, not merely as a finished product, but as an ongoing process of preserving memory and human experience.
