PENGARUH PLATFROM MEDIA SOSIAL TIKTOK TERHADAP PEMBENTUKAN IDENTITAS SOSIAL PADA GENERASI Z DI KOTA BANDUNG Renita Destiani 2108209 renitadestiani@gmail.com ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan platform media sosial TikTok terhadap pembentukan identitas sosial pada Generasi Z di Kota Bandung. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasari oleh tingginya penggunaan TikTok di kalangan generasi muda serta minimnya penelitian yang secara spesifik mengkaji keterkaitan TikTok dengan pembentukan identitas sosial. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan pendekatan survei, melibatkan 400 responden berusia 14–25 tahun. Instrumen penelitian berupa kuesioner tertutup dengan skala Likert, sementara teknik analisis data menggunakan uji korelasi Spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat penggunaan TikTok oleh Generasi Z berada pada kategori tinggi (mean = 53,22), demikian pula tingkat identitas sosial (mean = 56,07). Uji korelasi Spearman menghasilkan koefisien 0,701 dengan signifikansi < 0,001, menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang kuat antara penggunaan TikTok dan identitas sosial. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa TikTok bukan hanya berfungsi sebagai hiburan, tetapi juga sebagai ruang pembentukan identitas sosial generasi muda melalui interaksi simbolik dan partisipasi dalam komunitas daring. Kata Kunci: Generasi Z, Identitas Sosial, Media Sosial, TikTok THE INFLUENCE OF THE TIKTOK SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM ON THE FORMATION OF SOCIAL IDENTITY AMONG GENERATION Z IN BANDUNG CITY ABSTRACT This study examines the influence of TikTok usage on the formation of social identity among Generation Z in Bandung City. The research is motivated by the high adoption rate of TikTok among young people and the limited number of studies that specifically explore its connection to social identity formation. A quantitative research design was employed, using a survey method with 400 respondents aged 14–25 years. Data were collected through a closed-ended Likert-scale questionnaire, and analyzed using Spearman’s correlation and simple linear regression. The findings indicate that TikTok usage among Generation Z is at a high level (mean = 53.22), as is their social identity (mean = 56.07). The Spearman correlation test yielded a coefficient of 0.701 (p < 0.001), signifying a strong positive relationship between TikTok usage and social identity. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.491 suggests that 49.1% of the variation in social identity is explained by TikTok usage. These results highlight that TikTok serves not only as a source of entertainment but also as a digital space where young people construct and strengthen their social identity through symbolic interaction and participation in online communities.
